Getafe goalkeeper Oscar Ustari is happy to be staying with Michael Laudrup’s team.
Ustari cannot join a Spanish Liga rival after playing more than five Liga games this season, while a return home to Argentina has also been ruled out.

“I’m so happy that I am staying,” said Ustari. “I am in Madrid and delighted to be here.”

Atletico Madrid are monitoring Independiente starlet Patricio ‘Pato’ Rodriguez.

The 17 year-old has been likened to Atletico star Sergio Aguero and was outstanding for Independiente in a friendly on the weekend against Boca Juniors.

Atletico have been following Pato’s progress and will move quickly for the youngster should he make an impact in the Argentine championship this season.

The youngster said: “I’m proud that they compare me with him, but El Kun is a genius… I’ve hardly begun to take my first steps and I know that I need to learn a lot. I want to continue like this, slowly, calmly… The truth is I could not have hoped that so many things could happen for me in such a short time.”

Barcelona and Valencia are chasing Porto midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.
The Argentina international was priced out of a move to Valencia in August and his minders have indicated he is likely to leave Porto at the end of this season.

El Mundo Deportivo says Valencia have been joined by Barcelona in their long-term interest in Gonzalez. Barca see the midfielder as a potential replacement for Deco.

Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic has stoked the fires ahead of their derby with Atletico by admitting Sergio Aguero could be a future transfer target.
Mijatovic declared: “He is a great soccer player, a young person, with a big future. With the experience he’s gained, he has responded very well.

“He would be an objective not only of Real Madrid, but of many important teams. But he already belongs to an important team, which we sometimes forget.”

In my case, I would root for the U.S. Not because of loyalty or patriotism, but because I believe in the future of the sport in this country and want to support it. What makes it weird for me is that I was born in the US to a Guatemalan father and Puerto Rican mother AND lived in Argentina twice. Suffice it to say, my Spanish is quite unique.
