Messi was good, but again he squandered few chances that he would have scored in the start of the season. I think the only reason that messi was substituted was probably Rikjaard didn’t want to stress him out so soon after he had come back from injury. Also Messi and Henry were running the show on the first half, but Messi dissappeared on the second. He needs to get his goalscoring touch back, or pass it to someone else. Anyways, feeling great that Barca won anyhow.

Hey — Did you guys know that el muneco gallardo will now be playing with my team, DC United? How great is that. He has always been a favorite player of mine, so i’m pretty excited that he’s with united.

A question — Did anyone see the barcelona game? how did Messi look yesterday? I read that he was substitued when ronaldinho came in, and I was so surprised by that. How can rikyaard possibly sub Messi?

I haven’t heard of any other reason for the substitution other than what Gonzalo mentioned above, but I would think it had more to do with rest than anything else.

The Ortega replacement was a tactical one. Since Ferrari was expelled, Simeone did not want to leave our defense with three players, and therefore moved Villagra to the right side and put in Archubi to take over the left-back role.

Why did he choose to replace Ortega instead of Alexis Sanchez, Ahumada, or Abelairas? I am not sure of the actual reason, but the Chilean was having a great game and deserved to stay in, while Ahumada and Abelairas were heavily contributing the defensive duties. Besides, Ortega deserved some rest.

Maybe Christian has another reason I couldn’t make out?

Supposedly Di Maria will be out too, adding him to the list of other unavailable players (Messi, Aguero, Garay, Gago).

As for all of you attending the game, I got some updates regarding the training session on Tuesday:

Ticket buyers who get their tickets in advance can show their ticket to get special admission into practice sessions conducted by both the Guatemalan and Argentinian National Teams.

All attendees MUST have their tickets in hand and can enter the Coliseum via Gate 4 at the Southeast corner of the facility. Gates for the practice will open at 3:30pm. The Guatemalan team will begin their practice at 4pm and the Argentinian team at 7:30pm.

Inter 1 – Empoli 0 …………another controversial win by Inter. There was no penaly in the box, look for an investigation on how Inter are getting these game winning calls

Siena 3 – Roma 0 ………….An embarrassing performance by Rome.

Fiorentina 0 – AC MILAN 1 MILAN …………demoralizes fiorentina as predicted.
