There are only 4 midefielders, out of which 2 are defensive ones. There is room for 5 more above 30 years Boca players. Trust me on that. I agree completely with Aurelius. I dont think Basile watches European games.

Where is

1. Lucho
2. Lisandro
3. Cavenaghi
4. Gonzalo
5. Higuain

BTW, Alfio, lets forget about Aimar. The guy can’t even play 2 games at a stretch. He gets injured. No doubt about his talent though. Its hard to reserve a place for a player who will only play 30 mins in 5 games.

I am happy to see some names like Monzon though.

i really think basile must go, but i’m worried that the replacement will be much worse.

Poor selection onc again. Does the coach actually watch European football games ? I’m sure he does but once again forget Gonzalo & Garay or indeed Licha & FC.

No progression for 2010. If Pato was uninjured I would not be surprised to see him in this squad.

You look at Uruguay & how they are playing their promising youngsters like Eguren & Godin from Villareal for example while ours Gonzalo with another splendid performance against Manchester United are ignored.

I also feel like fab. Its the only way to see Basile removed. And no more of this nonsense well its not he behaviour of a true fan.

A true fan always wants what is best for their team no matter what the action is required to acheive it ie boycotts protests. Even if it ends up in the wrong end result the fans hearts are in the right place.

I’m kinda with you, Fab: the problem is Argentina really can’t afford to drop any more points. Looking at that list, though, the best we can hope for is maybe a couple of 1-0 victories, 2-1, that sort of thing. There will be no repeat of the last Argentina-Uruguay home game (Pekerman’s first) where we won 4-2 and played exceptionally.
I knew he’d pick Burdisso: he’s always been a favourite of his, is ex-Boca and is now playing regularly for Inter.
Monzon’s a good inclusion but generally, I don’t like this team. Just no thought in to picking players that will blend and will be primed for 2010. I see Figueroa will sign for Boca: what odds that he is back in the team ahead of Cavenaghi and Lopez under Basile?

i never asked for basile to leave but tonight i lost faith totally.
when we he introduce gonzalo,garay,higuain,cavenaghi…
give cavenaghi and lisandro atleast a game.man.

st.aguero,higuain,tevez,zarate,lavezzi,lisandro,cavenaghi

we talk formatations and tactics all day but thats not our problem!!!!!
the problem is player selectuions.
its irreleavant if we play with 352 or 41212.
basile does not select the right player that fit the formation.
this is the right way to play 4-1-2-1-2

Y only 18 players?
Is he going to select 5 from Argentine League ?

I can’t understand how Burdissio and Coloccini are being selected ahead of Gonzalo Rodriguez, Garay and even Pareja or Fazio. Burdissio though can play in many poitions but Garay and GOnzalo are miles ahead of him. Colocconi also looks too nervous and make many mistakes this season for Newcastle. Argentine have some of the best CD’s but the coach dosn’t selects the best and goes for the average ones. This is why the defence looks so sloppy during the last few qualifiers. Nice to see monzon getting a call especially considering Heinze form (though he was an amazing player before the injury)

Will comment on the midfield and forward’s selection once the squad is completed

Sorry Christian . Just as soon as Clarin loaded and I saw the headline I was tempted to share it with everyone here. Just by looking at the number of fullbacks he called up it seems Basile still opts for his broken 4-3-1-2 formationm instead of playing with the more favorable 3-5-1 variations.
