Group Stages Announced for 2008 Copa Libertadores

Copa Libertadores

River Plate, Boca Juniors, San Lorenzo, Estudiantes, Lanús and Arsenal will be the 6 teams representing Argentina in the 2008 Copa Libertadores. The draw for the group stages was announced today in Paraguay; in late January the first knockout round will decide the final spots to complete the groups. The competition itself will run all the way through the spring, with the final played in June.

Another troll? Jesus Christ. If you don’t care about Argentine football, why do you bother posting at all?

I have to agree: Group 3 is shaping up to be a good one. I haven’t seen Colo Colo in action, but FSC will probably show their games when they play an Argentine club.

Curiosity: Does anyone know anything about Biglia at Anderlecht, as in playing style and such. All I know is that he has been linked with a move to Atleti.

Addendum: Group 2 looks interesting too, with Estudiantes & Danubio, mostly because I’ve seen a little Uruguayan football recently on GolTV.

Saludos.

Please watch your language on this site. There are children and quite frankly adults (me) who are offended by it.

Try using your big boy vocabulary. Thanking you in advance.

Should be a great tournament. I read yesterday that Inter had 7 argys in their starting line up yesterday :) . That is where I would like to see Banega go.

ToddUtahh I liked the write up (is it yours?)
I think that there’s a feeling that we choked against Brazil and Boca choked against Milan.
So the rest of the accomplishments don’t mean much at first sight.
But there is also a huge amount of young talent coming out of our clubs.
So the future is still bright for us.

Maxi, I’m sorry you decided to leave us.
We’ll miss you here.

Hi all, haven’t posted in a while – but thought I’d share this with you regarding Apache:

United’s Anfield match-winner Carlos Tevez is the Premier League’s top performer this season, according to Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the English top flight.

Hey AJ, good to see you around again.
Tevez gives his entire heart for his team.
And the fans feel it.
Great for him. Carlitos deserves every bit of it and my hat’s off to Man U fans for the way they have embraced him.
Saludos

I would love to see Inter destroy Liverpool. I have always had a soft spot for Inter, and with 7 argies in the squad it’s just great. My local team, Brann Bergen, was drawn against Everton in the second round of the uefa cup…I was hoping they would get Atletico so I could see Aguero…..
