A slightly off-topic question. I dont follow Argentina as a national team much, but i looked over some recaps of games, and saw nothing about Crespo. The guy is very underrated player and i think he deserves a callup. A 4-3-3 with Crespo, Tevez, and Messi in the front i think would be pretty much unstoppable.

Can anyone please transelate this for me: con vos solo dios....what is the exact meaning in english? something about only God....?

Albo: Why isn't Palacio playing tonight? Is he not even on the bench? He played some minutes in the last game, so I thought he would be a sub this game...

Todd
I am really hopeful about Insua. I have seen him play whenever he has played for Liverpool. He is a little short, but thats OK. He had a very good game against Arsenal. Remember Arsenal is a fast and skillful team. Insua did pretty well moving up and down.

Liverpool, is a very tactical team defensively. They are into zonal marking as compared to more popular man marking. Remember the guy, Mauricio Pellegrino, the Argentine defender in Valencia. He is a BIG member in Rafa Benitez's scheme of things. Rafa got him from Valencia. Hew as the first Argentine in Liverpool. He played a couple of games for Liverpool when Rafa moved in. Liverpool is a pretty hard team to score against. So was Valencia in early 2000. This guy is a key man behind the scene. And he is Argentine. He is a first team coach for Rafa and in process to obtain his Uefa degree.

This is the same reason I was very hopeful about Gabriel Paletta. He joined Liverpool at the same time when Pellegrino was starting to take the defensive duties from Rafa. Paletta blew a great career. May be he never had it in him.

I will always love any defensive minded players to go and play under Rafa or Mourinho. That will make them better for NT.

Belated thread up now for Boca-Tigre final. Too bad I'm at work today because I would love to see this (and root for Tigre, obviously).

Tigre have no reason to be intimidated Albo, at least they shouldn't be. Boca may be one of "Big 5," but they are certainly beatable, and Tigre have had a great run since joining the Primera, finishing as high as 2nd last year.

It has the makings of a great match, so let's hope both teams deliver.

Tonight, at 5:45 pm Eastern time: Tigre-Boca
Tigre have a unique opportunity to make history.
Never in their life have this club been so close to glory.
Boca, playing without Paletta, Riquelme, Palermo and a Rodrigo Palacio who hasn't played more than 15 minutes this year, are still a decent team, but Tigre will have to play the game of their lives to beat Boca by 2 or more.
I know most of these matches are tough in the midfield and football is not too artistic.
The main question will be if Tigre will show up for the occasion or will get intimidated by the blue and gold jersey.

I have not seen him play much does anyone think that he might have a future with the NT ?

Insua Eyes Starting Spot At Liverpool
Anfield's Argie youngster is hoping to make his mark on the first team after his impressive showing against the Gunners at the weekend...
»Comments (27) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom Emiliano Insua was handed his second Premier League start of the season when Liverpool visited Arsenal on Sunday evening, getting the nod ahead of Italian full-back Andrea Dossena.

The Reds could only manage a 1-1 draw against a 10-man Gunners outfit, but Insua caught the eye with his raiding runs and dangerous delivery from the left flank.

The 19-year-old Argentine was thrilled to get the gig at the Emirates, and he hopes to be given another chance when Bolton Wanderers travel to Merseyside on Boxing Day.

"The boss (Rafael Benitez) gave me an opportunity to show what I can do and maybe I might get another chance to play at Anfield against Bolton," he told Liverpool's official website.

"Anfield is always a very special place to play and hopefully I can stay in the first team squad.

"The manager has given me a lot of confidence and I will keep training hard in every session and always give my best, because when you get your chance you have to take it.

"There is a lot of competition for places at Liverpool but that is a good thing."

Insua arrived in England on an initial loan deal in 2007, before completing a permanent switch from Boca Juniors during the last transfer window.
