FINAL World Cup Qualifier: Uruguay vs. Argentina

Ok guys here we go! Sorry it took so long to start a new thread for this huge game. Well here we are, it’s do or die for Argentina. Well a tie might do them good. I think AFA needs a big scare. I think Maradona will be replaced after Argentina qualifies. What do you all think? I think this is definitely a good thing because everyone agrees that Maradona isn’t a coach. He should be used as an inspiration to the players, not as the coach.

Game day tomorrow! It’s our last qualifier and it is again Uruguay. We all know the situation and the possible outcomes that could get us in or out of World Cup 2010 South Africa. Let’s give it our best analysis again. Let’s pray and hope for the best. We will definitely need it. I like the positive attitude by some of you guys, I also still believe in Argentina. We are still a great superpower, I am sure of this. Actually it might be a good thing that this is happening to us because now other teams might think we aren’t the old Argentina and think they can beat us. What do you all think?

Have fun and keep it clean!

Julian

And can someone please explain how in the hell Atletico can DRAW a match where they are 2 men up for 40 minutes?

I mean, really. They need to just sell their players and fold up shop.

To Sorin
There should be no room for that racist crap on an international football blog like this one.
Fooball unites people, not the other way around.
I’m sure there’s a lot of web sites dedicated to “infradotados” like you that will please your hatred.
So get going. It already smells bad in here.

To Albo,
Im not racist…I have nothing against any country, race or anything. ALl I said is no one is really an Isreali cuz the country is made up of immigrants from around the wrold and everyone starts slinging the good old “anti semetic” crap at me. There no hatred on my side.
And just as an FYI, if I as anti semetic, It wouldnt mean that I hate people of the jewish religion, I means that I hate arabs, they are the only semites left my properly educated friend.
Anyways, back to ARGENTINA futbol.

Sorin,
You are not racist, and your comment does not convey any message of racism. What you said is the history, a truth that most of us can’t dare to stand with. I appreciate your open judgement. But, lets discuss about football, we are not world politicians here…

The geographic history of a region in the Middle East has:

1) Nothing to do with this blog.
2) No direct links to racism or bigotry.

Can we please move on to topics related to football and Argentina?

I’m worried Aguero and Maxi are going to be toast with this horrendous season at Atletico, that Zarate is going to never wear Argentina’s colors again, and that Maradona will next call up Ortega to replace someone on the team like Aimar or Di Maria because he “bleeds for the shirt.”

Let’s focus on that. Geopolitics and the founding of a nation for a people who were grossly wronged by Europe and the world by wronging and displacing an apparently “less important” or “valued” group of people rather than punishing and displacing the SOBs who went bonkers and decided to go on a mass-murdering, egomanical killing spree at the direction of a lunatic are a bit heavy for this blog.

i don’t think that was racist

anyways chances are maradona will be at the world cup and he will not only make Argentina hate him more than now…but i fear the whole world will hate him (and our NT thanks to it)

lets be honest…bad times ahead :(

ooohhhhhhhh nonono, it is just crazy, i cannot believe that we are about to loose a future world player of the year, i just can’t believe that …. they must call him imagine a bit a team of zarate and messi altogether on the same pitch. this boy can give us extra dimension, defensive team like england and germany will face huge problems if they defend in their last 30 yards zarate long range shooting capacity can make them not defend in their boxes , leaving players like aimar or banega with the possibility to deliver trough ball to messi or di maria, or even give to messi and aimar the option to run at defenders. since rklm is out argentina is lacking free kick taker and kid zarate can be our free kick man!!! many teams have shot us down because of triple men marking on messi with zarate and di maria, messi can breath a bit and explode. i just hope that zarate will be called for the next game……..

Well the nationality argument works both ways. It is the authorities that need to clamp down on it. And of course certain Argentine icons could be said not to be Argentine …Carlos Gardel ?

Plenty of players born in France have turned out for African nations as well.

Instead of tightening the regulations they have weakenend them. Countries should not be allowed to make up for the deficiencies of their programmes by simply recruiting players on the basis of residency for instance ie Eduardo Croatia, Guerrero Poland, Wagner Bulgaria or ancestry.

And we have to be careful that sooner or later a really big fish will slip through the net. Let’s just hope it is not Zarate. If M has any sense he will speak to Mauro directly and offer him a place in the next friendlies with an eye to a spot in South Africa.

Italy have soe vrey exciting kids Giovinco, Santon but generally its pretty middling. For them to acquire Zarate would be a huge coup.

Otherwise international football becomes diluted and whilst at a small level you can have players moving to a nation of their choice. And richer associations could potentially lure young kids from less well off associations into their junior programmes.

And even if it is a nation with a small population, judicious planning and training can compensate. Costa Rica for example at the u20 WC, Uruguay throughout the last century, Holland and so on.

Atletico were shocking. Garay had a solid game for Real but was not really tested. di Santo was ineligible to play yesterday for Blackburn.

Saludos amigos.

The problem with this blog is that it allows anyone to post regarding any topic. Nobody is registered. Nobody checks what is written. Which allows KEN and his funny friends to have a “life” here.

I’m not going to comment SORIN’s words. Of course these were going to be considered as racist. In France, a lot would call him a nazi.

Back to futbol, Ayala will face Barcelona. Good luck el raton!

About Zarate, there is nothing from the medias, Italians or not. Zarate is an argentino. Hope he is because he’s gonna be the best player in the world in some time.

Lads please leave this debate of israel vs muslim world or muslim world vs israel behind

Interesting remark from MaxiLopez, isn’t that ironic:

I’m not going to comment SORIN’s words. Of course these were going to be considered as racist. In France, a lot would call him a nazi.

Y do we even have to talk about anything else since we are in a deep mess ourself, our NT is disorganized and our star players are underperforming and this has effected their club performance as well

Last point: what is disturbing and deeply sick is Maradona giving that sick fuck in Iran a jersey. THAT’S racist. But again, he gets a pass, even though Argentina have the largest Jewish population in Latin America.

Anyways, Zarate is better than most people we call up to the NT. It’s very sad. But Maradona plays favorites with players, just like he does with international leaders.

AURELIUS,

FIFA needs to tighten the rules. What really typically happens for African nations is they get scrapings of players to play for them (the top players don’t typically avoid playing for a European power to play in Africa unless they wouldn’t make the cut to begin with). See Angola. But this whole I can play for this team or that team because my grandmother was from here or whatever is a bit much. They should the limit national eligibility it to parents, and they shouldn’t let players jump froma youth team of one country to the senior team of another. I think that would resolve most of the issues right there.

I have a strong feeling Diego Armando Maradona will be released of his duties because of many of the Fifa fines , bans etc. That will ensure AFA to not pay him contract termination fees.
The next problem is bigger one, who next ? Who will be the next NT coach ?
Forget about any non-argentine coach that will not happen.

On another note Crespo’s NT career will be over since he isnt making any mark even in Genoa. Saviola will strike back to NT fold, this guy is a goal scorer. with new coach Riquelme might sneak into NT if he performs.
We will have a BIG BIG issue with Left back and right back , Zanetti is not getting younger and he is not having any commanding performance in that position adds more pressure to CB due to his lack of speed and in-appropriate or incorrectly timed pressing.
Insua is too slow for a left back, if game is played in non english way this guy will have tough time.
Time to explore the world a bit more deeper we might find some better argentine players like Leto, Ansaldi etc.

First time on this blog! I think you people know your “futbol”. I must say it’s surprizin that nobody is mentioning D’alessandro for a call up. one of my favs, he’s second to none in an Argentine shirt. Prove me wrong somebody -and BTW i think he’s more accurate(passing/shooting)than all our playmakers with the exception of Ricquelme. Also how about consideration for Alejandro Dominguez(Rubin KAzan)? He was a vital member of that Sub 20 winning team in 2001 until his foot was broken. I also love Lisandro -excellent awareness! What do you guys think about giving Maxi Moralez a call up for the friendlies?? I think we need a left-back, Insua is too slow but a good player nevertheless.
