Watch_10...your argument about maradona stretching his hands to rise his higher seems logical but does not hold any water because Maradona stretches out just one of his hands(left hand) not his right hand. If he was really trying to go higher than he already was he would have outstretched both of his hands. See any photo of hand of god and you 'll see. i cannot fathom how you missed it with so many replays and all...
I don't care if it was hand or whatever i still like that cheeky goal but lets not get carried away and make up stuff. And yes, English deserved it that's true.. i always say that :)

He is a real thinker Valdano and that paragraph rings true. At times football has become a circus and freakshow far divorced from what happens on the pitch and increasingly divorced from (certainly in Europe) the fans who turn up to watch each week.

As for the Hand of Dios in 86 watch any re-run of the 66 game QF Argentina v England. Rattin is sent off for nothing.

Ramsay merits a very low opinion in my mind referring to the Argentine players inc.Marzolini as animals. Animals ??

His own players were shocked even at the games end when they tried to exchange shirts this'manager' came racing onto the pitch to stop the exchange.

There is a football that happens on its own terms and there is a football that is documented. The perversion is that, at times, the football that is documented is more important than 'real' football. This speaks volumes about the power of the media who, on many occasions, instead of defending the truth defend economic interests.

Watch_10, you're 100% correct. The English deserved it, especially the media.

Of the domestic players all are acceptable barring Papa who is limited in technique.

Jonas can do a job.It may be ugly but he can do it and as such would be a good squad player to have.

Would have liked to see Noir & Buonanotte .Thanks for your opinion on Viatri,Albo. If he keeps progressing I would like to see him tested in the not too distant future.

Still no sign of my pet favourites Garay, Gonzalo or Cavegol. Thanks for your information on Fernando Maxi. I cannot fathom Blancs reasoning because clubs over the continent are aware he has returned to his River form, the form which had all the continental giants ie Inter , Real eyeing his services and for some bizarre reason he ended up at Spartak.

If its necessary he must move to somewhere Diegol can appreciate his abilities. Good to see Monzon in .He would bring pace and attacking threat (could soon be one of the best attacking FBs in the game) in a 3-5- with Zabby on the other side.

That back three if it persists with Heinze and Burdisso will be found out though. Long ball into the channel on the counter and we are done for.

Please bring in Angeleri if required as he is not any worse than those two or better still the two Gs.

If Masche refuses the captaincy its no big deal. Every player should be their captain on the pitch. They are seasoned professionals .They do not or should not require someone to be urgng them on or telling them what to do.

It should be merely a perfunctory title. In any case if Masche does not want it so be it it does not make him any less of a player. Gonzalo can lead , Dimi, Maxi Rodriguez understated but a firm liked character for instance or in time Gago.

I hope Diegol gets his wish and this is his own struggle to unseat Grondona's power. Surely he won't be refused ?

Saludos. :)

ALBO,
It's a pure mess in AFA. Seems that Maradona wants to change his assistants now.

This is the list according to Olé:

Carrizo, Romero
Burdisso, De Michelis, Heinze, Coloccini, Monzon, Zabaleta
Mascherano, Gago, Maxi, Di Maria/Jonas
Tevez, Aguero, Lavezzi, Milito/Denis

Riquelme, Battaglia (if Boca is defeated)
Papa, Angeleri, Veron

I don't understand why Veron (old) would called called instead of Lucho??
This may be not true but Olé is rarely wrong.
