I am not from Argentina, neither are my parents. I am 100% Norwegian, believe it or not. I fell in love with Maradona and Argentina in 1986, and from then on I`ve been completely obsessed with Argentine football. When it comes to football(who is a VERY big part of my life)I consider myself Argentinian. I love Argentina and my favourite team is Boca. I follow most of the the Argentine players in Europe closely. And I support whatever team(apart from Arsenal, I can never support them) that has one of my Argentine favourite players. It`s been like this for me since Diego was in Napoli, Caniggia in Atalanta, and so on.

Great to hear from you. US soccer is improving but there is still room for BIG improvement. There is not one SINGLE american players that have made impact of the caliber of Platini, Cruff, Maradona, Pele,Ronaldinho etc. Right now the rising star in the US team is Freddy Adu and he was born in Africa. He went for a try out at Manchester UTD and his performance was rated “inconclusive”. It may well be that he is overated.

If you go back in history, Pele and George Best came to US to popularize the game, but it did not work out.

My post has more to do with a huge disappointment in that US National President FA, Gulati has not yet hired a high profile national coach to start a new era in the soccer history given the US standard went down BIG time in WC2006 compared to the previous world cup. Do you get the gist of what I am trying to say?

If US soccer is “going to be bigger than the premiership”, I hope it happens in my lifetime.

Just want to say AMEN to those of you who praised this blog somewhere above. I love it! Great to have a chanse to talk football with other Argiefans world wide.
By the way: a difficult group in the Copa America for us. Paraguay are difficult to break down. USA are strong on their day. Colombia, I don`t know much about them these days…But we`ll go through anyway.

I disagree with you today I was surpised that sportscenter did a report of how eto and ronaldinho made up after etos outbrust and they also had done a recap of the aresenal and bolton game and the goal was exactly number 3 in the top ten plays. U.S is deffiantely growing were having a lot of young kids already got bought by big europeans clubs. The leaguge also have gotten better. 10 more years players from brazil argentina england spain italy african countries..etc will be coming in I believe its going to be bigger then the pemiership one day.
