What a Shame!!!!

It is simply unbelievable that Italy can win a world Cup with that mediocre team and style of play. Basically this World Cup was so close in competition that it came down to the refs or the penalties. What an awful world cup in all. Im not going to take anything from this world cup besides the cambiasso goal which was not just class it was Super Class. Not 1 player surprised us with an outstanding performance through out the world cup. Zidane got best player because of the soccer clinic he put on Brazil.

Not 1 team proved they were better than the rest. Argentina if they didnt rest after the 1-0 lead you never know but we did and thats what happens when you back off. But for Italy to be called the best in the world it is actually pretty upsetting to me. France had the tougher road to the final and they played better in the final. But thats soccer when it goes to penalties the better team can lose as we have seen many times this world cup and throughout history. Everyone seems to forget about the Italy vs Australia game but that was a pure Joke of a call. It is the world cup and it is the 91st minute it should be very hard for the ref to call a real penalty but for a dive its a Joke that he can call a penalty to win the game. As well as the France goal against Portugal which was more of a penalty than the Italy one against Australia but still was a dive..Its the world Cup please let the teams play & stop ruining the games. stop giving away free goals to teams that stick 80% of there team in there defensive third of the field.

Ronaldinho has too much money to play soccer. He is too worried about getting injured than he is about playing the game with heart that made him all of his money.What a shame!!

Messi had the potential to become a God in this world Cup but 4 some reason the Coach never realizes what he has until its too late even though I think Pekerman did a wonderful job but what a shame not to give this kid a chance!!!

Ronaldo you broke the record woooohooooo..You should be ashamed of yourself breaking the record against a bunch of nobodies!!!

Zidane thank you for headbutting Materazzi in the chest it was the highlight of the Final. Italy got pounded by an attacking France but like i said the better team doesnt always win.What a shame!!o and Zidane if you wouldve put that header in you would be remembered forever. Even though you didnt you still are the best European player to come after Kroiff. No one will come out of Europe better than Zidane. What a shame!!!

Australia do not worry if you were Brazil that would not have been called a penalty but your Australia so your out. What a shame?

Pirlo do not worry because the people that actually know about soccer knows you were the best player on Italy throughout the entire world cup. a shame!!

USA stop being so robotic..it is not a coaches game. the players need freedom. Nike you made that usa joga bonito commercial way too early. what a shame!!!

Argentina-unlucky but with 3 of the top 5 goals speaks for itself. Any coach around the world wishes for their team to play like you do. what a shame that you didnt win this cup!!!

Brazil- good for commercials but those flashy moves and individual talent doesnt win games.its about the team the movement the vision..and THE HEART which half of the team of Brazil played with none of.what a shame

France- for me the best team of the world cup because i dont want to say argentina cuz of my bias. eliminated top teams to get to the final. Henry proved that he can only play in england!! and why he was worth nothing in Italy when he played in Juventus!! o and henry you cant ask for a sub with 10 mins left in overtime going into penalties in the World Cup Final and your supposed to be a great one. No balls!!what a shame!!

Germany you are lucky the world cup was in Germany because with the players you have they couldnt play in the 3rd division of italy. they should be making a Statue of Klinsman just to get that far. And you almost did the same thing to italy that u did to argentina but finally the better team won. No shame for you guys you over achieved by a million with the scrubs you have playing on your team.

Italy you should be glad you prayed as much as you did to get an Australia that you shouldve went to overtime with and than a Ukraine in quarterfinals than a sloppy German team that shouldve never been there in the semis. You should be thanking the Roman Gods for the cup.

One more thing Italy did not win the cup. France lost it. What a shame!!!

first of alexa alexa alexa who are you really oviouslly you have no idea what your tlaking about your just commenting to be a part of something and try to fell good about yourself secondlly italy was not a overlly flashy team but thats what the italiens are their hard working in your face poeple but they have the heart of a lion in the world cup game the first goal by france sould not have been a penelty materazzi did not even tough the frenchmen and zidane barelly got the ball off and later on in overtime toni’s goal sould not have been taken away he was proved clearlly offsides SOOO everyone just shut the heck up and do somehting productive with your lives and alexa get a boyfriend

Maybe we can have a new post, something that looks more towards the future. That way the people who car about Argentine football can discuss, and the others who just want to insult can do whatever it is that they do when they are not insulting. How about it?

i think people are forgetting that italy completlly dominated france in the first half, giving them barelly any shots on goal. ITalia seemed like it ran out of gas in the second half. Zidane was deeply frustrated by the coveredge the italians put on him, the whole tournament he was being respected and not being challenged, but in this game they were all over him. So zidane said something to materazzi and im italian this happens they always say mommada bobbida and zidane took it wonrg becuase his mom is in the hospital so whatever well never really kno!
Kris that its a shame stuff, is soo anoying. The only thing that made sense that wasent out of nonsense was the ronaldinho statement

I just rewatched the WC (most games) and checked the stats. Whats the hype with argentina?

2-1 ivory coast?
6-0 serbia?
0-0 holland? as soon as they met world class competition they were just regular. Great goal vs Mexico but could have went either way.

Then they meet traditional powerhouse germany and….they choked.

so lets get real ……arg didn’t have …best advice is pat attention to how Italy was a complete team.

OK, now that is the second time that someone stated the wrong flag for another post. On my screen, Chris has an american flag (USA). I think it is safe to say that the country of origin automatically posted by this forum is not very reliable.

PS - I am still watching those clips. It will be the longest four years of my life waiting for the next world cup.

kasets, you obviously didn’t watch those games. And if you did, you either are blind or you don’t understand what soccer is all about. Maybe if they were playing with Italian shirts on you would suddenly “see the light”. Watch the way that they play as a team. It is beautiful, yet lethal. Italy did not play like this until the end of the Germany game. Even the Holland vs Argentina game was good. Technical, but good.

Argentina should have won the world cup 2006 but we got cheated! Maxi deserved a penalty in the closing minutes. that was pure madness. and Italy SUX.. they shoulda got put away by australia but hey.. thats the refs for ya… always screwing up games… angyways, argentina is gona win 2010.. u can’t go wrong with tevez and messi up in front, were gona be a scoring machine

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the chances of Arg. winning another WC are slim to none. Talent they have no question but in all honesty based on research trends and numner crunching future world cup winners are limited to Germany Italy and Brazil.
