Too MANY creators on ONE team

Riquelme right now seems to own the spot of being Argentinas number 10 but in my opinion I can not believe it. This guy has no character. He has great games and than others he disappears like a pussycat. A number 10 has to be a guy you can look too, to put the team on his shoulders. Sometimes it looks like the referee runs more than this guy.

He has great skill, dont get me wrong, but he has to be the easiest person to mark. He is not a fighter or quick off the ball. He plays no defense what so ever. What he does have though; is that at any time during the game he can play that 1 perfect ball to break a game open. But would you risk it having aguys like Aimar, D’ allesandro, or even Veron a possibility for the spot?

I definately would not even consider Riquelme to start over the amazing Aimar. This guy is a footballer. He has the passion to win. Hes a warrior. He never stops moving on the field. Pablito Aimar causes havoc for defenses beating one than two players and placing a perfectly placed ball. How can you leave this guy on the bench and bring him in with 20 minutes left and tell him to work magic. Let him work magic from begginning too end.

I would consider Riquelme over D’ alesandor and Veron but not for Aimar the guy is a proven winner. Riquelme only proved he has great games and the next week will have the worst game of his life.

Who would you start at the #10(maradona) spot?

Well I am not sure in your country what they think is a #10 but in Argentina it is the attacking center midfielder/creator. Crespo is more of a Batistuta/#9 not a #10.

The position that Maradona created was “enganche”, something inbetween a midfielder and an attacker. To be completely honest, Roman is not a true #10 in the spirit of Maradona, at least not since his Boca Junior days. Now, he’s a lot slower and still stays too close to the other team’s defensive midfielders.

I would like Aimar and Roman to play together, because they can both increase each other’s game, but I think Aimar is going to lose his place to Messi.

Messi is taking Saviolas spot. Aimars position is taken by Riquelme but I also would like to see Aimar play with Riquelme. But since they dont seem to like the idea I would like to see Aimar being the go to guy for Argentina. I think he would be a crazy good fit with Crespo and Messi on the attacking end it would be a great combination.

But Maradona wasnt a true enganche. He was a monster haha. Probably the only enganche that you would see defending in front of his own penalty box, tackling, going balls out. He did everything you can ask a player to do but he did it on another level

I see tevez starting upfront with crespo. I love messi i just dont think he will start this world cup. As for riquelme and aimar i would love it if they could play together i just dont think it will work. It reminds me of a similar problem in 2002 when people wanted to see bati and crespo on the field at the same time, and that obviously was not going to work. I see saviola coming off the bench. Just curious what do u guys think will be the starting 11.

its were he is played thats the problem in the youth world cup riq was played deep and aimar was played forward behind the strikers now aimar is dumped and riq is played behind the strikers its studid you need the veron like play of riq deep with a fighter next to him mascorano my first choice like the veron simeone mf partnership at lazio then you need to fast clever players to feed of the wing backs and riq id go for messi and saviloa then leave crespo to pull defenders away from goal or wait for thru balls and crosses we need sorin mass riq gonzolise in midfield and saviola messi crespo in the front line with sorin and gonzoles attacking wide and messi riq attacking in the middle and saviola feeding crespo all i can see is best attacking group at the finals please henzie be ready for summer we need ayala hen and samual or the other bushy haired guy as are back 3
