The pressure is on!

September 24th, 2009 | By: Julian D | 271 Comments »

Messi scored two fantastic goals in Barcelona`s last game against Racing de Santander. If you want to see the highlights, just watch below:

Why can`t he do this for our national team? What`s the problem guys? Today Maradona is going to announce the squad for the friendly against Ghana on Wednesday September 30. Only local based players will be selected. Tomorrow he will announce the squad list that will play the last 2 qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay.

Let´s start a fresh thread here. Any thoughts? As usual please feel free to post links and information to anything related to our beloved seleccion Argentina.

-Julian

Well isn’t that a surprise. A game against Ghana thirds and the buffoon probably think’s he is Batigol crossed with Stabile and a dash of di Stefano thrown in as well.

He was mediocre in La Liga but he knows best of course. I bet the Peruvian defenders are quaking in their boots as St.Martin of Boca strides out.

Of course it’s no doubt to placate the Boca faithful for his shabby treatment of Roman.

Get rid of the buffoon now……….. October 10th I fear we will all be crying.

Yes the Palermo thing is only because Maradona wants to win over Palermo faithfuls in Boca and further bite Riquelme. Its just Maradona’s continuing pettiness.

I fear mid october too AURELIUS.

I’m pretty sure Palermo will start & score VS Peru thanks to the Aimar-Messi tandem. It will a different story against Uruguay when little payasito will be on the bench leaving Messi without oxygen.

I’m more & more convinced that Aimar’s presence in the NT is due to Messi.

I’m thinking if watching the match will help my nerves, but I’m making plans to get out and get my mind away from the game against Peru. Maybe I’ll be praying for some miracle, or find something to numb me before I turn on the computer to finally check on the results, I’m nervous as hell cuz of Maradroga.

believe it or not Heinze had this kind of problems with Higuain in Real Madrid, only reason he was played was the reason that Marcelo was defensively a bigger fuckup.
I will try to get some information from my sources usually those are 80% approx reliable :-)
I have nothing against Heinze but I think he deserves to be in the squad but not a decided starter that too if needed a sub for CB.

i really wouldn’t mind that much if palermo started against peru. at least he is tall at 6′3″ and would give us a diferent demension than three midgets al the time. i really think it can work once aimar starts. then the uruguay game milito or higuain deserves a shot. what concerns me the most is the #5 if mache is unfit we are in deep trouble esp if we play one #5 who ever he is must have an outstanding game. a guy like lucho will be greatly appreciated for defensive purposes.

Is it for sure he’s start Palermo? He just said that he will be included in the squad, not the starting roster…

Agreed……….roman is a non factor non issue….don’t like him as a player or human.
Agreed ………Palermo gives us height and a oh so delicate touch.

Some people are still of the opinion Higuain is French.

Maradona has the team clicking we will steamroll over our last two opponents.

Some people are still of the opinion that Milan is good this year too. But they’re wrong as well.

I like Audie’s lineup.

With Palermo scoring that really worries me coz now Maradona will go on prove his point of Hungry old man can score and his “hunger” theory is adequate. God pls give brains to our God in Football! Well we only played a under strenght Ghana team who are not even a top nation back in Africa. Crap don’t think this is your so called dream veteran team Mr. Maradona.

With Aimar, Di Maria and Messi on the field, I think any tall forward will suffice so long as they can finish.

I expect good things against Peru. Uruguay is a different matter….

Buffoons, eh? Like the BUFFOON who said he’d punch anyone in the face who said Insua was worth anything as a defender let alone deserved to be on the national team, and now fields him in every lineup he posts? Or who who fields two players playing in the French league in his latest lineup while simultaneously insinuating that anyone in the French league isn’t up to snuff?

The reason Messi plays better for Barca is bacause he has first class support. The only teamwork in the Argentina team seems to be in the mid-field
