The future of soccer is still in Argentina.Cheer up

The future of futbol is still in Argentina my friends. Thats why its extra special for the brazilians that they won against the new super powerhouse of soccer. I was talking crazy before changing our style maybe i was just mad but that is the argentinian style and i dont ever want to see them sell out and change no matter how many times we lose the big game its still a joy to watch the ball roll so gracefully all over the field and a goal be CREATED and DESIGNED. We showed the world how to do that, the problem is brazil showed the world how to stop that with athletes but we will counter and somehow someway our talent will prevail.

Messi will grow and develop and become a straight monster..Aguero will be better than Tevez i believe. Our bench is full of youngsters.Do you see our under 20 guys? they touch the ball around like the big boys and develop goals like the greats.. So all the argentinian fans keep your heads up and keep buying those sexxy jerseys because we are going to be the savior of futbol for i would say at least the next couple decades. Please Basile do the impossible and bring attacking futbol back to the forefront.

No one here is divided about Riquelme her but you , Mane. Everyone else here pretty much thinks he’s an exceptional player. If you can’t see it, well that’s says more about you than anything else. My initial thoughts about you, which i expressed a few weeks ago, seem to be true. Oh well.

in any case—
Di Maria is going to be purchased by Arsenal, as per skysports!—WIll play for Salamanca this year becasue of the age restrictions. Good for him….

Mane, I’m not sure how you can compare Ronaldinho to Riquelme, they are both totally different types of players. It’s a bit like comparing Pele to Maradona. It’s a silly comparison.
The one thing i will say though is this Ronaldinho has and had a whole team of superb players surrounding him and helping to make him look good. Who did Riquelme have? He made the whole of Villareal look good. Enuff said.
And just to finish off as Roberto Carlos said if Riquelme was Brazilian he would definitely be in the Brazilian first 11.

One more thing Manchester United did try to buy Riquelme last year but he wouldn’t move.

I am pleased and thankful that we have astute individual bloggers here such as Maradona who can spot those sophisticated troll boys!

riquelme failed in villarreal.hahahahahahaha.
riquelme first boca spell superb.
he had one year at barca ok he failed there but was never really given a chance.or played out of position.
he was loaned out at villareal after the first year.
in the first year he lead a avrage villareal team to uefa cup semi finals lost to valencia the winner that year.
that is what i call a failer.
second year he lead villareal to the third place and quater final of uefa cup.
had many goals and assists was with ronaldinho best player.
that is what i call a failer.
third year he lead villarreal yes villareal to the semis of champions league yeas he did not score the penalty but sh.. happens.
his fourth season at villarreal he played 6 months not great but not bad either.
for us unknown reasons he had a fall out with the coach and than club.we only know pellegrina and villarreal story, riquelme never spoke about this so ther is always to sides of the story.dont judge what you dont know.simple.
and than he went to boca i am sure you know what happend.
as far as argentine nt goes he won the youth world cup,won toulon tournement he was selected best player.
passerella should have taken him for world cup 98 just for the expierence,i know he was given a chance at copa america 99 i cant comment on that i didnt saw that tournement but is ssen as a failer from him.
2002 he was a must but bielsa didnt chose him.
confed cup he was the best player till the final.
2006 he was tired, and injurd before the tournement, but still managed to perform, not how we hoped to but better than ronaldinho, kaka, lampard together.
it was not his fault against germany he created the goal he was on the field 1-0,he was out 1-1 which idiot cant see that and would blame him.
the rest of the game he was a fan just like you and me.simple.
copa he was simply the best player,he was double marked, fould in the final buut still had our 2 best chances.
dont blame him for the set pieces,he had no target to play to.
you dont know this guy how dare to run your mouth about him, when he was transferd to boca they like fighters, first he was not really fan favourite because he is not the typical boca player they like fighter,if a player does lose the ball he must track back to win it so you can imagine the boca fans was not pleased to see him not track back, but he won them over slowly he is a legend there right after one guy called maradona,he was unwanted as he arrived to barca he could have stopped there fade away just like other talented players like rochemback, geiovanni, motta… but he again came back and fought to the top, many thought his career was over in this winter again he could have faded from the radar like other players but he brought his game back on track.
i respect him.just imiagine you would be him.how would you feel if almost the whole world is against you, many people hate him with passion more than they love themselves, they love to hate him, ronaldinho was avarage or non existen in the world cup nothing happens for example, riquelme has one bad game like copa where he was double marked and every time he touched the ball fouled he is shittt they say,i dont get it his critics criticise him when he even plays good, they maybe think more of him than me they think he is superman or something like that.
is he a leader i think not,has he weaknesses yes like every player, has he talent yes he has,do we need him still yes we cant allow to not use him,i am not a coach he is right now our best player they get paid to utulize the talent thats their job and they should do that.
sorry to bring this much debated topic back but i couldnt resist respect that guy for what he is,a grat player, respect him for his struggle, respect him that he is a human being who his family is his 1st option.how many players can say that all the money and the fame didnt get to his head,he just wants to play, and love his family.
chau.

Alfio,
thanks for paying tribute to Riquelme. While Riquelme’s own fellow countryman goes on rampage about his so-called emotional problems, it takes a fellow all the way from serbia & Montenegro to bring out the greatness of this great soccer prodigy! What an irony!

Thanks a lot Dale Rojo,

I really appreciate your translation. I like the way how you characterize the feeling aspect of the chant through the word “unsurpassed” and then end it by stating that you are incapable of
stopping that feeling. It sounds very poetic to me. Thanks for sharing your culture. God bless.

riquelme sure has had an enormous amount of unfair criticism for the past two tournaments. i guess being the insparational leader of the team that is the sacrifice he must make. i wonder sometimes though do this intense criticism ever get to him. i am not a diehard riquelme fan. but i must give respect when its due. he has been a pure stud this tournament scoring 5 goals and assiting on many others. he even should us a different side of his game by scoring with his head and his many tircks with the ball was a pleasure to see. what impresses me though is the way way he draws fouls his positioning of himself to the ball is outstanding. for instance if a defender is charging at him towards his right he waits till the final moment and switches the ball to his left foot to win the free kick. if we only had a target man in some more of those games think of the possibility. i can also remeber there were times a didn’t feel comfortable unless he had the ball. i knew players the likes of heinze and cambiasso could not do anything creative with the ball but riquelme is pure genius and you must watch because he will take your breath away.

Mane, I have tried emailing you but the message has bounced back. Your comments have been posted on the Argentina World Cup Blog. For some reason they were caught in the spam filter. You may want to try posting as a different user name and with a different email address.

It looks like the Lucho deal is not going to go down with Valencia. Wah. I was hoping to get a chance to see him this season.

We are going to win the FIFA WORLD CUP SUB 20 today guys… It is highly unlikely that we lose both the COPA AMERICA and now this!!! We aren’t playing Brazil (no offense to Czech – they have been playing great) but they will crack…

Aguero is the man and player of the tournament!!!
