Tevez Leaves Corinthians Confused

January 14th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 5 Comments »

Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has unexpectedly returned to his home country leaving some of his teammates on his Portugese club team Corinthians wondering what he is up to.

Local media is fueling the fire by speculating that Tevez is back in Argentina so that he can practice with members of the national team. Tevez has said publicly that he would like to miss the first few games of Corinthians campaign so that he can regain his form for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Argentina coach Jose Pekerman has traveled to Europe to get a look at some of his players and perhaps to escape the intense scrutiny he is facing at home.

After what Tevez did last season for Corinthians I don’t think they are going to mind the trip.

Diego, I’m sorry to bring this up, but the Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez does not play for any “Portugese club team”. Corinthians is a Brazilian team.

Tevez is a great player and has an impressive personal history. I can’t say anything bad about him.

Any player shoud have the right to practice with their team and get ready for the World Cup. Tevez won’t be a champion in 2006 anyway.
