RUSTY but super CLASS wins the game

July 2nd, 2007 | By: Kris | 78 Comments »

i have disappeared for a while but i am back. and wow does watching argentina play make people shiver. the precision and class of every touch is really beautiful to watch..And i think Bacile came on here and looked at my old posts..AIMAR still the most underrated player on Argentina but gaining some points after the clinic of USA..ZANETTI ZANETTI ZANETTI—SUPER SUPER SUPER CLASS PLAYER..VERON RIQUELME struggled first half getting the passing game going but i think the early goal woke them up again.. the greatness of riquelme is that he does as little work on the field as possible (running like an animal example:colombia/all the world) but gets the job done..Did you see the ball he gave milito 1 on 1 with the goalie??? Messi i dont even have to comment.. the only thing missing from what i can see is off the ball movement from the center forward for example the best at this for me is saviola and all the proof u need is that he is not the biggest guy obviously not the fastest guy and not the most talented but the guy makes beautiful runs and is absolutely incredible off the ball–its too bad hes not here..

Hey guys, I watched the U 20 argentina games live in ottawa, Canada. I had no idea there were so many Argentina supporters in Canada. Everywhere I looked in the stadium it was filled with the white and blue colors.

U20 Team of argentina play probably the most graceful and elegant football in the world as of now. Their game is just beautiful and some of these players will definitely play a big part in Argentina’s future.

The score was 6-0 for argentina. The heart of the game was benaga. Almost all of their plays go through him and moralez. Now I could c y benaga is ideal for supporting riquelme as he did in boca. I can’t wait to see him play for the NT.

Now here’s the man that could change argentina’s supposedly weak defence. his name is Federico Fazio. Most of our back line defenders are short and often too impatient and aggressive. Fazio is very tall and intimidating for the opponent strikers. and nothing goes past him. he rarely commits fouls and gets the ball off the opponent cleanly. he’s dominant on air and he’s got long legs to wrap around opponents body to tap the ball (he’s done that several times int eh game). he could be our target man for set pieces. I read that he is playin g for Sevilla, but never seem him play before. he is 20 years old.

Zarate had a good game. Aguero had an amazing game. he was unselfish at the right times which led to 3 of the goals.

funny thing i noticed in the game was that panama’s jersey was the same jersey Serbia and Montenegro wore at the WC2006 when argentina beat them. also argentina was wearing their away jersey as they did against S&M.
The score was 6-0 for both games. coincidence? haha

Well tommorrow’s game will be interesting.

Crespo is out for sure: This hurts me, world class goal scorer and very reliable.
I was dissapointed in Diego Milito’s performance as a direct replacment, this was his time to shine. However he still pulled
off a goal in his first outing, even though it wasn’t a clean goal i think it was still going into the back of the net without
the defender’s help. I know he was missing for most of the match and squandered a few opportunities but I agree with some of the other posters that we should not write him off as yet. I would like to see Tevez used more also. He left the premiership on incredible form and scored a goal in his first outing as a late substitute. He is strong and fast and skillful.

Messi is definately hungry for goals. He scores often for barca from bursts on the right. The only difference is that he runs
into alot of walls in the defence because there are not many people up waiting to do a 1-2 with him. Even if he cant score goals he can rack up alot of assists. I saw him literally walking next to riquelme at a few points in the game just waiting for
the ball. He needs another midfielder who will make runs along him. He is hungry for more action.
Hopefully Basile’s changes will give him more opportunities on goal and i know he will score.
Maybee Aimar or Lucho will get a start instead of Cambiasso to increase pace and help messi.

I am eager to see the replacement for Gabriel Milito: This guy is just too nervous or something.
Makes way too many mistakes. I am not too familiar with the possible replacements but I am sure there is someone who can do a better job.

Abbondanzieri definately scared me in the game against columbia but I mean i have also seen him pull off good saves in the
WC and this tournament. The whole team made me nervous at the end infact. From the time Columbia made it 3-2, i was on my feet. I could see the midfield’s aim was to maintain possession in the 2nd half but they definately pushed it by not keeping enough pressure by attacking the opponents more.

I see some guys want Basile to send out almost a whole other team for this game against paraguay. I agree maybee trying another keeper but I am not too familiar with any of the others. Maybee with a stronger defence (G. Milito’s replacment), Abbondanzieri will cope
better.

Another attack minding midfielder such as Lucho or Aimar to make more runs on the left side in place for cambiasso. Give Diego Milito another chance up front.

pdp thanks for responding, i think macherano is pretty good at distributing the ball myself , i think the advantage of playing veron lower are that he doesnt have to run as much back to play defence and that he is inhereditely better at distributing the ball than mach but only because thats his job,,, plus he can actually combine with messi and riquelme to move forward once in a while, but some of the long crosses he put towards the left side of the field were really good so you are right he does have a lil more vision than mach, although i love mach so much i hate to say anything neg, ive been watching mach play since the river days and every game i watch him play he makes me smile and clap! a few things on the attack, i think militio for sure has to replace crespo for cocos scheme to work,, keep in mind all of our other attackers are medio puntas, which compliment a big punta like crespo or milito, even palacio always played next to martin palermo, remember the strentgh of those players is to get the ball a lil lowere ether on the sides and cross it , loose a player and shoot or form a wall with la punta or riquleme to find themselves one on one, or ofcourse go by everyone if your messi aguero or tevez, but i really am surprise at how fast you guys are willing to give up on milito that guy was amazing last season in europe and is asking more than 20 million from some of the best clubs, and remember the second half argentina held the ball a whole bunch in the midfield, and milito even though he failed did have 3 or 4 good chances, believe it or not even crespo i remember has games where he misses two or 3 chances in front of goal, in fact i remember that being something the press was critizizing b4 the WC in ger, and pekerman said that the good thing about crespo was that even thoguh he was missing a lot he was always in position to score, i think the same thing will be said about milito that game, plus i think milito is a lot faster at this point than crespo and much better passer and dribbler right now than crespo, no doubt he will play a lot better and a lot of you guys hopefully will be writing back and apologizing!another thing on the other milito i dont know if im being naive or if somewhere the militos are in my family, but i just dont see what u guys are talking about, for some weird reason the guy that always makes me nervous is heinze everytime he touches the ball, but maybe thats jsut me and nothing else, one last thing on pato, he was awefull on the first score he didnt even try to stop the goal, any younger goalie like ustari or carizzo would of stoped that goal on pure reflexes, but el pato halfway moved his hand the raised it b4 the ball was fully past him asking for an offside omg i couldnt believe it it almost looked like he let it in!!! and on the second goal!! holy s**& the ball hit him almost in the effing chest he swiped at it so bad the ball i half jokinly called it an own goal, pathetic, arg should of won this game 4 to 0 !!!why oh why ustari hurt his finger is a tragedy to me, i watch him all the time and i gotta tell you guys his reflexes have to be some of the best in the world you guys jsut wait!!

the next game will be milito’s big chance to impress for the rest of the copa. going into the game he knows he will start. so he should have a different mindset one full with confidence. if aimar could start as well i’m sure he will do much better they know one anothers tendencies so well. as for the other milito he is definetly struggling and if his replacement referably burdisso plays well he should continue playing for the rest of the tournament.

This is how good Crespo really is. From his days in Parma and Lazio:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slahpneTbQw&mode=related&search=

He was easily among the top five goal poachers in the world for more then 10 years. Was Monday the last time he would ever wear the Albiceleste colors in a major tournament? I really hope not.

Cambiasso needs to be out and Aimar in, Basile is going way to defensive. If Veron is going to play that far back then we need another offensive mid and that should be Aimar. How many defenenders are we going to have 8? Come on Basile show some balls and start Aimar Riquleme Messi and D Milito with Veron and Masherano as the defensive mids. Vamos!!! Also we need one more skill and speed player as a starter and that man is Aimar.

Albo,

I love your lineup.

I’d truly like to see these guys play that way. It is good to try something else and at the same time give the first team a rest.

Ok, I am off for a holiday in my home town tomorrow, so this will be my last post for some days. I hope to see Tevez and Aimar tomorrow. We relly need to win, if we don’t win, we will meet Mexico or Brazil in the quarter final. And Mexico always play good against Argentina. So if we lose tomorrow, I have a strong feeling that this Copa is over. Good luck to everyone tomorrow! I will drop by an internett cafe soon and post something after the game. See you.

Rune,

I understand what you are saying but in my view, the only thing we need to do is to be self confident!

We are playing the best football of any country today. I can bet a million dollars which I don’t even have that mexico and Brazil don’t want to face us until the finals. We outplayed Germany in the 06 World Cup. We also did outplay Mexico which had a wonderful team. We can beat any team anywhere at anytime. all we need is to believe in ourselves, be self confident and not panic in the event that things dont go our way for the entire 90 minutes of the game.

I believe we will beat anyone. That is just me.

Nice vacation Rune.

it be very hard for coco to play aimar on cambiaso spot the whole game …even though veron i splaying lower he is still an offensive minded player and not a very good defender… u kknow what id like to see,,,
——–carizo———-
ayala heinze
ibarra zanneti

veron macherano gago
messi riquelme
milito
ofcourse riquleme in this would have the freedom to roam anywhere and so would messi,,, and veron would also be able to go farther upfield and then alter on be replaced by lucho gonzales, we would have two tapones so that ibarra and zanneti can go wild reach deep and send good crosses i really think this line up would score 4 5 goals a game and messi would have tons of room to run and gago is such a great passer !!! tell me what u think guys

ARGENTINA will play without CRESPO ? It is a big disaster for ARGENTINA . I think the most suitable player to Replace him(CRESPO) is SAVIOLA but the big mistake Basile do is , he didn’t pick SAVIOLA . I think SAVIOLA is a great finisher after CRESPO . I hope ARGENTINA can go to the final . No illore para mi ARGENTINA por favor porque yo siempre contigo .

The Tevez saga appears to be over.

Definitive reports Tevez will be signing for Manchester United in excess of 22M GBP.

Has Basile revealed tonight’s line-up versus Paraguay??

Hopefully we should win tonight … I’d rather play Peru than Mexico.

And I hope he uses Messi and Tevez tonight.

I also want Argentina to win but i think that Paraguay will play very close, how are most games between this two teams and Hernan Crespo is expected to miss the remainder of the Copa America after injuring himself whilst celebrating a converted penalty against Colombia. He is former Chelsea striker had amassed three goals in two games as Argentina opened their campaign with convincing victories over United States and Colombia, but pulled a leg muscle leg in bizarre circumstances in the second Group C encounter. The most surprising in Paraguay squade is that missing… http://www.bettinginfos.eu/tip/analyse.php?spiel=10281

yooo, AUSTIN…that is definitely not the starting lineup for Argentina…who wrote that pathetic article?? goal.com? dip shits……gago? he wouldn’t start unless we were playing with Americas best squad(=sorry ass team)…..and just to shut up all the US soccer fans(=people that don’t know soccer)…if USA brought its “best lineup”…it would have only been more embarrassing..the gold cup is known to be a paid of tournament…no rumor about it….and they had to pay it off just to win this tournament…..please…..provide us with a real lineup and dont say anything else about the US orange capri sun halftime drinkin bamas again…thanks for reading, lol…its ok..dont cry.
