Riquelme — Is he too slow or not?
Riquelme is constantly criticized for being too slow in the true meaning of the sense. Not quick off the ball, easy to mark, and does’t defend. Most people would say wow he cant play professionally let alone for a the Argentina national team.
But Most people dont realize unlike the current coach of Argentina Pekerman, that his “vision de juego” is ridiculous. I believe Pekerman states that he sees the play happen before everyone else on the field. I am actually contradicting myself from my earlier posts lol.
Well not really it just depends on what type of midfielder you want. I would take Aimar over Riquelme hands down but on the other hand if you put Riquelme with a handful of guys that are going to work off the ball and have talent. He is going to fit in like a glove with his great vision. The only thing is you lose a defender with Riquelme which most coaches do not like.
What is your opinion? Is Riquelme too slow to play for the “albiceleste”?

Riquelme is the best playmaker currently. He has good ball control and perfect field visions. He might be slow a bit, but his position doesn’t require him to sprint like olympic sprinter. The players around him can expect good passes from him. He doesn’t come deep to defence, but he rarely loses his ball.
