Argentina

Patience… Only 6 Days

Over the past few days many stories and rumours have surfaced… some of which have caused uproar in the Argentine press as well as the fans.

Pekerman made a statement today to clear things up:

He stated that the players he called for the convention near Madrid are close to being selected for the national squad, but that nothing is predetermined, emphasizing that many of them would play a part in the final list.

Pekerman also explained the reason for the amount of absent players who are potential candidates for the national team, “many of them had important sport commitments and matches to attend,” he said. Mascherano, Tévez, Zanetti and Samuel, all had league games, and Pablito had an important sporting event.

Another thing which he mentioned was the absence of Aimar.

“There are no personal problems between myself and Aimar,” he believed, which suggests the possibility of the player still being included.

Surprisingly, he referred to Aguero: “I cannot say more about him, besides the fact that he is excellent, and has a superb ability to decide the outcomes of a match.”

Overall, Pekerman recognized the reunion of the 14 players had proved very useful.

There are six days left, and there seems to be little doubts with the confident National coach, except for possible injuries, and the possible concern over the physical conditions of the players.

All will be decided on May 15th.

I TOLD YOU GUYS. THE LIST IS NOT FINAL.

Pekerman can still make the RIGHT DECISIONS. I HAVE FAITH IN HIM.

Pekerman always called Aimar, Zanetti and Samuel. I am sure he will pick them.

I hope Aimar’s injury is not bad.

  • Nick

I thought you wanted to shoot him…or was it Scaloni?

  • Nick

Another thing I don’t understand about Peckerman is this term “physical condition” which could mean everything and nothing…I mean Scaloni could be in the pink of health but that won’t stop him from being an equally bad player…I am bothered that Peckerman is using negative criteria rather than positive criteria to make his choices.

  • argie in canada

Pekerman just confirmed that Heinze and Messi willl be on the list of 23. Let’s hope they recover completely.
Nick, by physical condition he means players that are in good physical condition, not exhausted or torn up by all the playing in the European leagues, uefa cup and champions cup. Or at least likely to be in very good shape. I also dislike Scaloni, but from the list of 16 they will likely all be going barring some injury.

  • Debasish Dutta Roy

I completely agree with Nick. I am a bit confused about the selection criteria. I agree that a 100% fit footballer is better than a half fit player. But that should only be one of the factors to be taken into account. Pekerman might as well take somebody like David Nalbandian because he is fit, even though he is a argentine tennis player.

I watch EPL very closely, I have watched the west ham games after scaloni was loaned. Trust me the players who go past him, I do not even know their names. What will happen in the worldcup. D’Alessandro is in great form and completely fit, is Pekerman considering him.

I just get a feeling that Pekerman has some predetermined favorites and he is only going to pick from that list. Else there should not be any place for Scaloni, Coloccini, Abbondanzieri etc. I am getting a strong feeling that this approach is going to backfire. I hope I am wrong.

“I TOLD YOU GUYS. THE LIST IS NOT FINAL.

Dude you were the one leading the panic parade. ;)

Let’s all admit we all hit the panic button a bit too early though. :P

  • http://lol.com lol

hehehe well at least there is still hope for El Pupi.

We need Aguero this World Cup. Didnt England call on some UNPROVEN young talent for the WC? Aguero is a must for me.

I also agree about the way Pekerman is selecting his players. But if he wants healthy players and selects Heinze this means that Gabbi is in great shape which is good news.

Zanetti and Samuel are in great shape. Comparable with the bes of their careers. For those WHO DONT watch Inter games. Samuel has been a BEAST. He has recovered from what happened in R.Madrid. He is not exactly “The Wall” he once was but he is really good.

Lets hope Pekerman makes the right decisions. Because we have all the ingredients needed to win a damn World cup. I think we have a surplus of ingredients actually lol.

  • Diego

Aguero, please, please, please pick Aguero!

  • gino

wow this is a rollercoaster ride that’s making me dizzy

  • sebas

guys AGUERO IS NOT GOING!!!!!!!!!! we dont need him anyways. even if he did go he would just sit on the bench with scaloni and cufre.
I bet Samuel doesnt go (i still disagree) but he will not go.
Zanetti is a toss up with Aimar.

  • http://lol.com lol

    ^^ Can I call you Mr.Pekerman ???

  • Andre Sooklal

To not take zanetti or samuel is really something that bothers me..
I understand not making a specific 23 is a good thing cus it does not give a clear idea to the opposition what is comming.
But zanetti (who i think should be captain or ayala)…must go.
    augero is good…
but i guess we will just have to wait and see

  • http://B619A Pugnate

I have this feeling that Pek. will take Aguero. After Sven picked Walcott out of the blue, it might enocourage other coaches to use their instincts.

And Pek. has called Aguero a match winner… so there.

  • Julian

Aguero is definitely not going. Zanetti? I think he has more chance than Aguero, but we’ll see…Personally, if was the coach, Zanetti would have been the first one i picked and he would be the captain. This guy is a role model for not only the rest of the team, but the world in general, for his class, sportsmanship, and his all around bona fide qualities. Though, it isn’t suicide without him, we can do without him for sure… we have an abundant amount of talent…

  • Rajarshi

I just don’t understand how Pekerman can leave out Saviola, Tevez, Zanetti, Demechellis, Dalessandro and Aimar. I hope he includes them in his final squad as these players are much better than some selected in his initial 16. A very good example will be Scaloni. Also plyers mentioned by me are always preferrable compared to players like Cambiasso. Obviously the Inter Milan Mideo is not a bad choice but there are players superior than him waiting to be selected in the final squad. Also its high time Pekerman decides about his goalkeeper because a good goalie I think we don’t have a substantial chance. The present goalie is not worth of getting a place in the final 23. All the previous WC champions had a great last man during their respective triumph.

  • maxilopez

    Lux > Franco > Abbondanzieri

    Placente >>>>> Cufre

    Saviola = Aguero

    Aimar = Riquelme

  • Rune

Hell yeah! When Sven Gøran Eriksson decides to gamble by bringing the 17 year old Theo Walcott to the WC, Pekerman should really use that as a good example and gamble with Aguero.
But, can anyone answer me this; is Aguero an attacking midfielder, or is he a striker? I thought he was a playmaker kinda player…

  • Rune

By the way; I also watch the English Premier Legue on a regulare basis. D`allesandro has been playing well the five months he`s been at Portsmouth. But not THAT well. He has scored ONE goal and has had three or four assists. He has really taken a step upwards in his career again, but to me, he is nowhere neare the World Cup squad. We have so many good attacking midfielders:Aimar,Riquelme,Messi,Lucho and Aguero can all play in that role.

  • maxilopez

    Rune, I just wrote it:

    Aguero = Saviola 2

  • jor

dont worry, there are several good variants:

    abondacieri
    coloccini ayala heinze sorin
    macherano cambiasso
    messi riquelme tevez
    crespo

    abondacieri
    coloccini ayala heinze
    lucho mascherano cambiasso sorin
    riquelme
    messi crespo

  • argiebargie

Their is a chance Aguero might be going because their is a place left for a striker should Saviola be selected. Rodrigo Palacio name is being mentioned as well Julio Cruz. Diego Milito has looks to have slipped out of the picture.

Basically you cannot believe what anyone of the media is saying. Their has been so many stories and rumours that its doing my head in.

Until 15th May all we are going to do is argue about who should and shouldn’t be in the squad.

I’ve said it before and im going to keep posting this message:

GET SCALONI OUT OF THE SQUAD AND REINSTATE ZANETTI PEKERMAN

  • http://France wamdiego10

    Hi guys,
    First of all:
    Aguero:
People say in this forum that he shoule be in the 23 because The English has taken the young “Walcott” (What ?). I think Sven Erikson is silly, you’ll see he’s wrong the proof:
Maradonna has not been taken in ‘78, ARGENTINA won whatever !
Moreover Walcott or Aguero are not as good as Maradonna at the same age, are they ?
Another proof: Erikson takes Rooney althoug everybody know he’s injured, and even if he comes back for the final (which they’ll never reach because of Rooney injury!) He won’t be in a good shape and he would be less good than scaloni ! We do know that after a serious injury a player needs at least 3 months to recover his shape.
To finish, Argentina is not england, Argentina has several great Attackers, not England !

    Second thing:
    A few guys said
To pick a lot of strange(coloccini scaloni….) players in order to scramble the charts is a great idea of perkerman. But this is wrong because it is not efficient. Indeed in football you don’t need a computer to calculate a strategy, every different combinations can be already analysed by others coach. It’s not by using the “surprise effect” that you win the WC. A guy said that he would put colocini in the XI to change strategy, then the surprise would destabilize the oponent: for sur it would be a surprise ! We could put Oberto as Central Back and Manu Ginobili as forward too ! What a surprise it would be ! Fuck those surprises man ! Every body know the way winning team play, nobody can stop them.
Changing strategy during a game would be efficient id the sub is good,, and we all know Argentina has the best bench of the world, so it’ll be a weapon, but no Coloccini and no Scaloni please

  • argiebargie

All i’m saying is with Zanetti, Ayala and Heinze our defence cannot be any stronger.

Scaloni, Coloccini and Cufflinks is the nightmare defence.

lol seems to be a lot chirpier than before. Wait until May 15th comes hehe.

  • Omar

RiQUElme,,,, JAJAJAJAJAJAJ, This guy is a lazy player never runs or makes great effort to fight for the ball, ES UN PESADO

  • http://lol.com lol

“We could put Oberto as Central Back and Manu Ginobili as forward too ! What a surprise it would be ! Fuck those surprises man !”

    HAHHAHAHA LOL good one ;)

    Riquelme own ur mom.

  • maxilopez

    You are saying shit men!

Riquelme is an artist and a creator. If he doesn’t defend, it’s because he cannot make more efforts! Nobody has 2 hearts, except Sorin in this team.

  • http://lol.com lol

What Pekerman said today (badly translated):

The list and…: It is necessary to think that it is not normal that a list without having the players occurs training. To this instance we had liked to have all the players, to make a training and there to give the list (…) we did not close this list because they know that to last moment we are going to be confirming.

The concentration in Madrid: We saw videos of our rivals, we made char them group, individual and, fundamentally, we organized the work.

The balance: The players have been fulfilling the objectives, are felt trusted: there is an excellent group that is been satisfied like equipment.

The absentees: This is circumstantial, I understand that the journalists show their preoccupation, but that they have not come to the concentration she does not mean anything.

The confirmations of Messi and Heinze: I did it because always it is good for giving tranquillity them, so that in the recovery there is not some excess. Fijate that with Messi, the anxiety, the inexperience, harmed it when wanting to hurry to play the end of the Champions.

  • maxilopez

    Thank you very much “lol”.

Do you understand this? Aimar is he injured?
    http://www.ole.clarin.com/jsp/v4/pagina.jsp?pagId=1193065

  • http://lol.com lol

Basically it says that Aimar’s injury is not a tear…it is not serious.

  • fab

it dont matter i heard aimar wont be int he final list

  • likexx

I found many people like to put Mession on FW position with crespo, but he is actually always playing middle filed (right side mostly).

I would really like to see two FWs together: crespo and TEVEZ !!

Argentina has been playing 442 for a long time, from 1994 to 1998 until Beilsa. Why do we only keep crespo as the forward?

  • http://lol.com lol

    Some new and old rumours:

1_the absence of Juan Roman Riquelme was because he was annoyed with Jose Pekerman because the technician did not mentioned his friends Pablo Aimar and Diego Placente.

2_Aimar had to do an operation in the US.

3_Gabriel Heinze WAS withdrawn last Monday when he trained in a gymnasium.

4_Hernán Crespo was about to lose the WC if he wanted to attend the birth of its second son, something that it will happen during the contest in Germany. But the technical body denied him.

5_Javier Zanetti will not be able to play his third Glass of the World because he was labeled as “mufa”.

6_Sorin was the main reaso why Veron was not selected.

7_Scaloni knew (or knows) that he is going to the WC.

Remember people those are just RUMORS. Ugly rumors. The 1 about Riquelme is false. We dont know anything about the rest.

  • http://www.janggiri.com Naidu

After watching the Sevilla vs Boro game last night, I have come to a conclusion that Saviola should not be in the Argentina WC squad.

He’s playing crap football now… lacks aggression inside the box.

  • fab

looks like aimar will NOT be in the WC squad

    http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/news/story?id=438005

  • Nick

Let’s try to be fair with Peckerman…he has Argentina’s best interests in mind after all.

He is making a point about Aimar. The guy may be really talented, but if he is not fit…what is the point of taking him? The World Cup is a physically and mentally draining exercise, and players need to be in the best of shape. I do not believe Peckerman has a bias against Aimar per se.

I am not so sure though whether the same can be said for Zanetti. The player is in good shape…why he has not been called remains a mystery.

About Scaloni and Colocini, they may be in good shape, but they’re terrible players. Being in form cannot be the only criteria…does anybody know whether Peckerman has commented on these two?

About Saviola, I hate to say it, but I don’t think he should go either…

I hope Peckerman has the wisdom to find the right balance between health, talent, determination and team spirit.

  • Rune

fab, could you transelate this please? What does the article say?

  • Rune

I watched Saviola in the uefa cup final yesterday. I really don`t know…he does not look good…I am not going to cry if he`s not in the squad. But I don`t know, he could be useful if he gets back to his best.
Problem is that there`s not much time left to do so.

  • maxilopez

Are Heinze and Messi in good shape???!!!

Aimar is an artist. Even if he’s in good physical conditions, he can change a party with his technique.

Also, if Aguero is better than saviola today, then the first must go to the WC. But Saviola is special, he plays well with the national team. He was a bit boring against Boro yesterday.

What tells the document on Aimar?

  • maxilopez

Actually, Aimar seems to be in good shape. Also, we are talking about a sub. He would only play 20mn per match…

  • http://France wamdiego10

Yes, it’s true Aimar looks good, after he came back from his headaches, he made an assist and scored in the following Liga game. Moreover he shoul’be used as a joker. His injury is very light, so why are you talking about a shape problem who does not exist Nick ?

  • malik

i pray that argentina does well. if anything, i belive ol pekerman will be th downfall, same as confederate cup when he decided to sub in tevez and aimar in the last 20 minutes of the final leading to a score from aimar. aimar has to be included, no doubt. the starting forward must be a combo of tevez and crespo, riquelme following right behind, and a good line of midfield and defense. i hope zanetti is also included.

  • argiebargie

Pekerman has done some things right by dropping players like benardi and cesar delgado. I hope he cuts a few more out of the 14 that went to Madrid as well by the time 15th of May comes along(You guys know which players I’m talking about)!!!.

I don’t think Saviola should be taken ahead of Julio cruz or Diego Milito who are more complete strikers. Hes had an OK season but he isnt the striker who can turn games around. That accolade falls to Aguero.

I thought Saviola was going to be the next best thing but i feel sorry for him. Coming to Spain has made him look average when everyone was raving about him in Argentina.

Cruz has had a good season considering the time he has spent on the bench. Taking him and Aguero would be my ideal choice but taking Milito in one of their places isnt a bad idea either.

Pekerman will get it right. If he doesnt dont worry people im sure Grondona will set him right

  • maxilopez

Well talked Argie. Aguero > Saviola? Maybe. Maybe not. I agree that Aguero is a new player, nobody knows him, he can be impredictable. Also, Saviola would be a sub at the WC, even if plays well with Argentina. Aguero could put some fire in the opponent’s defence.

Pekerman would have to make lots of choices!

  • Nick

I hope you are right about Grondona setting things right in case Peckerman doesn’t.

About Aimar, it seems that the chap is perennially riddled with one injury or the other. I have always liked his style of play and follow him quite closely in the Liga…but we have to cast aside our wishes and be realistic.

If the maximum one can hope from Aimar is 20 minutes per game, are we getting good value? You might argue that he only needs twenty minutes to settle a game…but that won’t be the case each time he plays. I personally hope he gets selected, but I also understand Peckerman’s position on him.

This is not a judgement on his talent, but he is prone to injury. So I think that in his case, I agree with Peckerman’s “wait and see” approach.

  • maxilopez

But the problem is that Valencia’s match is after 15 may…

  • http://lol.com lol

But Nick all of our players are freakin prone to injuries. Why exclude Aimar ? He has played the MOST minutes this season. More than he ever did. And he has a minor insignificant injury. So wtf is the problem ?

  • Nick

True, our players seem to be pretty injury-prone! On the one hand, I say that it could be the opportunity for them to get some rest before a gruelling tournament…on the other hand, even if they recover in time, they might still be out of practice (this is what I fear sometimes).

But to get back to Aimar’s case, I suspect we don’t know the full extent of his injury. Viral meningitis, even in its benign form, is a pretty serious illness, and recovery isn’t a matter of a few quick weeks. We are now told of a muscle pain…

Why else would Peckerman select players like Heinz and Messi who are “recovering” but not Aimar unless there is more to Aimar’s condition or fitness than we know?

I know that this is all speculative, but I cannot see any other explanation.

  • maxilopez

Great Zanetti tonight against Roma. As usual. Super Cambiasso too. On the first goal fir Inter, cross from Zanetti (Cufre didn’t stop him) for Cambiasso and magnificent goal. The second is from Cruz.

Argentina is prating for Javier and Pablito.

  • http://lol.com lol

Listen dude, Aimar has completely recovered from Viral meningitis. The hospital and the club made this official. The club cannot lie about the health of a player so this information is 100% accurate.

Today I saw Inter vs Roma in the COppa Italia final.
Zanetti was BRILLIANT. Listen guys, if we dont have this guy in the World CUp then we seriously dont deserve to win. He is the best player in his postion. No arguments here. How can a PIECE OF SHIT like Scaloni go before him ? The ONLY ANSWER to this question is that Pekerman is a fuckhead.

Samuel was also excellent. Cufre sucked ass. Burdisso did NOT EVEN PLAY.

Samuel and Zanetti should go no matter what. Even if we have to burn Pekerman’s house down.

Adriano sucked. Terrible. People who complained about Saviola not doing much yesterday should have watched Adriano today. He sucked. At least Saviola had good touches considering he did not receive much service.

Conclusion: If pekerman doesnt pick Zanetti and Samuel then HE HAS NO CLUE WHATSOEVER wtf he is doing.

  • maxilopez

(That’s right, Adriano is a bad player, no technique as I always said, that’s good for us!)

I still can’t believe that Pek isn’t taking Zanetti. I think we must calm down and wait. It’s impossible and it would be incredible.

    He just can’t do this.

  • maxilopez

Roberto Fabián Ayala dijo hoy que tiene el presentimiento de que su compatriota y compañero en el Valencia español, Pablo Aimar, estará entre los elegidos por José Perkerman en la lista para el Mundial: “Aimar es un jugador de Selección.

  • fab

    well

half the press says that pekker didn’t confirm anything about not taking anyone

the other half says no aimar and zenneti

and ayala sayed that aiamr is a player for selection, ststing he is sure he will be picked

    its confusing

i think aimar might not go only if his injury is worse than thought

all we can do is wait

then egg pekkers house if he sqrews up

  • Julian

For everyone considered about Zanetti (as I am), and if you can read spanish, here is a good piece of information:

    http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/news/story?id=438587

It basically says that Zanetti hasn’t been contacted by anyone, including Peckerman regarding his selection for the WC. Otherwise, he is very very anxious, and worried and does want to participate. Nothing else important there…

take care guys… and relax this weekend!

  • ahmad

For ARGENTINA to win the cup ,this is the team to do it:

    Abbondanzieri

    Zanetti Ayala Collocini Heinze
    Mascherano
    Sorin Riquelme Messi
    Tevez Crespo

  • Nick

This is exactly what I dislike about Peckerman…why keep players anxious till the last moment? How on earth does he expect to build team unity when key players don’t even know what is going on and there is so much contradictory information? Why does it have to be such a circus? Even if Zanetti is selected, what kind of confidence will he have in his coach who made him suffer till the last moment?

  • http://France wamdiego10

    You’re right guys,
To make indisputable players get anxious is a very bad thing for confidence and team spirit. I think the worst thing is that Zanetti wonders what ’s pekerman’s reason, he may have bad ideas about Sorin or someone else. Probably Sorin is not responsible of this sheet. But yesterday we saw that cambiasso is most definetly unique, which defensive midfield would be able to score a volley like that ? I’m sure adriano would miss it.
Samuel, javier and Cruz confirmed their high standing

  • Rune

I watched the final of coppa Italia yesterday. Zanetti was very solid in defense and good in attack, like always. As I watched the game, I found it so hard to believe that this player is being compared to Scaloni. I just had to laugh. Zanetti is sheer class! Always! Scaloni is f***ing terrible! Always. If Pekerman does not see this, well Merry Chrismas to him!
Samuel looked very solid. He is really starting to look like himself again. If Pekerman doesn`t pick Samuel, he is retarded. We REALLY need a backup for Heinze, who has been out for 7 months. I am not trusting Heinze to be in good shape for this World Cup after being out for so long.

Cambiasso…I love him! What a player! He works his socks off every match he plays. And what a tremendous goal! My God! Fantastic! Lovely pass from Zanetti there as well.

Cufre looked better than I`ve seen him before; but I think that says more about Cufre than about me. He is average, at best.
Cruz looked good, and should be in the squad. I would take him over Saviola.

I am really nervous abuot the Aiamar situation. Pekerman HAS to pick Aimar. We really need him in the squad, even if he can only play for 20 minutes per game.

  • http://France wamdiego10

    Here’s my bet:

    Abondanzieri-Franco-lux

    ayala-heinze-zanetti-samuel-milito-coloccini-cufre

    sorin-cambiasso-mascherano-Maxi R-lucho-riquelme-aimar-demichelis

    crespo-tevez-messi-cruz-saviola

Cufre and demichelis could be dropped for burdisso and scaloni
    That’s my only doubt.
To me Samuel and Zanetti were not in madrid because of the tim cup final. If they had been injured during the game, they’d have been replaced by burdisso and scaloni. Cambiasso ? He would have been taken even injured because he’s involved in the nationnal team untill 2012. Indeed, it’s very probably Zanetti’s last WC.

  • http://B619A Pugnate

I just have this feeling that Aguero will BE in the side. I just have this feeling.

  • pekerman

    guys wake up…..

we are talking about a list that zanetti and samuel will not make….aguero diffinetly will not make it…..

after the final of italy am sure cruz will make it…there is no dependable striker to replace crespo other than cruz….saviola to replace tevez for sure…..one place left…..and it seems demicheles

  • Slick

Sorry to digress guys, but i was just reading that Messi isn’t in the line up for Sevilla this weekend. Rijkaard thinks a place in the finals for Messi is unlikely.

It’s disappointing that we won’t see him until the Angola game, but this is probably good news. It nearly rules out the possibility of any recurrence in his injury.

  • http://lol.com lol

Yes it is very good to know that Barca are taking care of him. I hear he is doing some intense ball training. I dont want him to play. let him be ready for the World Cup

  • Nick

Good to know Messi is being taken care of…but remember that he will have been out of practice for quite a while.

  • Rune

Good point, Nick. Messi has been out for so long and he needs to get back in to match fitness. I think Barca`s last legue game has been rescedueled to May the 20th or something. I hope he will play some minutes in that game. And if everything goes well, he`ll be ready to play the Angola game.

  • Rune

Ok, guys. I will take a break untill Monday now. I will be ready to kill Pekerman if he does not make the right decisions. See ya!

  • rahul

guys let us not assume anything n wait for may 15…i dont think any coach can afford to keep zanetti n aimar out…n zanetti should be the captain n play the whole 90 mins..just lookat the passion with which he plays.experience,speed,stamina,skill….is their anything that he lacks?
and when he attack he leaves the opposition defence so disoriented.
a creative player like aimar shouldnt be left out…he has got the heart to play in the world cup…in 2002 he was outstanding

  • NK

I watched the West Ham vs Liverpool match, and from what I have seen, Scalloni was playing pretty well! Not bad at all, and as a defense player almost scoring a goal.. I don’t see why people are complaining. I still prefer Zanetti and Samuel of course but if Scalloni plays like this, I won’t be too worried.

  • http://lol.com lol

that was a fluke. Scaloni is still trash and Zanetti is still 90X better.

  • Dan

im a portsmouth fan and ive been watchin d’alessandro very closely and i have to say he is still on the road to becoming the next maradona and he should definatly be taken to the world cup or at least be given a chance to come of the bench and be given his chance to prove himself. he has excellent vision awareness teqnuiqe and amazing skill.

  • pekerman

latest news….placio, lux, demichelis, aimar are on the list…..bye bye zaneti, samuel, cruz…..

    mascherano, saviola, tevez as expected……

so it is confirmed….and will be anounced tommorow…

    God I hate Scaloni.

  • http://B619A Pugnate

” don’t see why people are complaining. I still prefer Zanetti and Samuel of course but if Scalloni plays like this, I won’t be too worried. ”

Dude were we watching the SAME game? Sure he is creative and can create chances but his primary role is defense, and he sucks at it. He couldn’t hold Cisse and Cisse isn’t as good as some of the CIV players.

  • gino

I hate Pekershit, just wait and see what happens to that fool if Argentina don’t make it out of that 1st round. They say he is under alot of pressure, but what pressure. It doesn’t take pressure to take Zanetti over Scaloni, it’s a no-brainer. I think this guy is nuts and should be sacked.

  • fab

aimar may only play 20 minutes of each game

but he is the only other play maker
    around of high quality

so what happens if riquelme gets injured during the world cup?

  • gino

It’s a shame, having the best talent in the whole world and still unable to solve these not so difficult decisions on which players to take. I love watching Argentina play when they are on their game, they play a beautiful game unlike any other national team i’ve seen. But to replace Zanetti and Samuel, and experiment with less than average players, oh I don’t know. There must be something going on here, and I don’t like it.

  • gino

Too bad Pekershit is illiterate, or else he would have read this blog and made better decisions.

  • NK

Well I posted that message before the second half so I wouldn’t have to post later.. ha. I guess I spoke too soon, Scalloni didn’t play that well the second half. He’s ok for a sub, but Perkman should pick Zanetti and/or Samuel for defense..they have way more experience and skill… Either way, I still believe we can win the cup easy with or without these players.

  • likexx

OK, last comment before the official anouncement:

We have Zanetti and Samuel at 2002, but no better result.

So, if they were not picked up, it’s a pity, but only a pity.

  • fab

zenneti played very well as did samuel

dont worry pekker cant be that dumb

  • gino

just to loosen the tension of every one.. i crossed by a predicting tool and i tried to see all the possibilities of argentina progressing to the final rounds….you know….we might meet england in the quarters and brazil/italy in the semies if we end up second in the group…if we are first we’ll end up meeting germany in the quarters and if we pass which seems a more difficult game since it is on thier country we’ll meet france in the semies and most probablt brazil in the final….

check out guys and tell me how did your predictions went….

lol, where’d u get ur information??

  • http://lol.com lol

    OLE.

  • Rune

Fucking Pekerman!! Now, every hope has gone. Zanetti has been left out. Samuel too. I would love it if someone shot Pekerman. Scaloni is a fucking joke!! And a bad one! I`m gonna cry for a week. Even if Argentina wins the WC, I will never forgive Pekerman. Zanetti does not deserve to be treated like this. Pekerman is digging his own grave. Fuck you, Pekerman. I hope you burn in Hell!

  • NK

haha.. que locura, bueno no importa, tendra sus racones.. esperemos que sen buenas!
It doesn’t matter at the end of the day.. it’s just one player, and I am sure Pekerman would not pick him if he knew he was that bad.. Pekerman has probably been watching videos of him play over the past 2 months and he probably thinks hes just the player for the team because he fits in the right role.
However not including Zanetti and Samuel is really bullshit. Just have to wait and see now.

and chill on the language please :)

  • NK

One more thing.. Zanetti and Samuel played in the last 2 cups and lost. Pekerman’s wants nothing more than to win the cup for Argentina.. it’s his reputation at stake, I think we should trust him and see how Argentina plays.

  • http://lol.com lol

If Pekerman has been really watching videos of Scaloni then HE WOULD NEVER HAD EVEM MENTIONNED HIS FUCKREN NAME.

assuming of course that Pekerman is sane. But this is not the case….

Palacio is on the list….fuck man. I want Cruz. Palacio has not proven himslef. WTF is pekershit thinking ?

  • omar

i’m sure Perkerman will always start by
    GK:
    Abbondanzieri
    DF:
    ( Coloccini-Ayala–Heinze)
    MF:
( Riqulmé, cambiasso and Mascherano )
    FW:
    Messi, Crespo

no question about Heinze Riqulmé, cambiasso ! ! they will be always there in any formation i’m sure he likes them ! !
but tell me playing with a Libro ( sorin ) is nont useless ????i think he will make the team weak , he has no fixed place! ! but he is the captain , , ,why him ?
