Milan fans better Pray????

April 8th, 2006 | By: Kris | 24 Comments »

Messi missed the Champions League quarter final against Benfica after pleading with Rijkaard and doctors to allow him to play. What does this mean for Milan? I would have to say it doesnt sound good. Its hard enough trying to stop Ronaldinho’s barcelona but with Messi in the lineup its nearly impossible. Also I would like to see how Messi plays against World Class players such as Stam, Gattusso, Pirlo, Cafu, (basically that whole back line of Milan). But the way Milan is playing if they dont get their act together in my opinion its going to be embarrassing but with the class and skill they have on that team I would never count them out. They have been one of my favorite teams too watch for quite some time and I am hoping Barcelona vs Milan will showcase pure talent and class with a little “gattusso” on the side hahaa. And hopefully Messi will be playing.

Messi will play. He has been rested this weekend even tho he is ready. Good thing that Barca is resting him and allowing him to heal correctly. This is very good for the NT because Messi will be 100% come the WC. OLE MESSI ;)

My heart will be with Kaka and Ronaldinho at the same time.

It’s good to know that Messi is recovered. I can’t miss that game! I think Barça will win.

Barca vs Villareal in the final will mean a lot of quality Argies on display.

Villareal vs AC Milan should be awesome though.

Also a lot of people expect Arsenal to beat Villareal. I wouldn’t be so sure. I think as long as Henry is kept in check, Arsenal will be dried up for goals.

Barca have had bad luck since Messi has been out. We have not been able to score consistently given the tremendous amount of opportunities available for us.

Thank god Messi is coming back!

Winner of WC is coming out of group C. Netherlands or Argentina (I like the Dutch)

Just heard today that Messi felt some pain again before the racing game. I guess that is the reason he did not play any part in that game. So I think WE need to pray that he will be fit for the semi finals.

By the way; allthough it hurts to say, I think Brazil or England will win the World cup.

England ?? dont make me laugh plz. Brazil ? I actually think we have the better team if Pekerman finds the correct formation.

Feeling some pain is something very usual after a muscle injury. Nothing to worry about.

Messi is simply unstoppable. I don’t think the aging Milan defence line can cope with Messi.
However, I’m concerning that there might be another player like Del Horno, who deliberately uses nasty tackle to stop Lionel. Any of those tackles would ruin Messi’s and Argentina’s WC dream.

Rikaard is taking his time with messi so that he doesnt aggravate his injury. He is almost fit now and has a couple of months to pick up from where he left off.

Its all coming together now. mascherano is getting back into the groove of things, Heinze declared himslef ready to play again which has made my day because he is an important player. Ayala has strung some games together for Valencia.

So we got messi, tevez and crespo as the three of our 5 attackers Pekerman will be taking. It is looking likely saviola is going, Aguero is 50/50 and cruz is falling out of favour after an indifferent season. Diego Milito looks to be another string contender for a place. I’m not too sure myself who the last two striker should be but i cannot wait for Pekermans final 23 roster.

Cruz and Aguero should go. Saviola is too short to play against the africans, dutch and croatians to begin with. Cruz has a lot of class, Solari’s goal today against Udinese was a masterful touch del Jardinero…he’s intelligent, strong, tall and has a deadly accurate kick as well as team spirit.

El indiecito la rompio as usual…I don’t know why he’s not in Pekerman plans…can’t wait for those final 23 either, I’m specially worried for Zanetti’s inclusion in the team…

As for Barca-Milan…hehe, go Messi and Ronaldinho…! Can you tell I’m Interista? :D

I hope Lionel is in good shape to play…he’ll shine against Milan…

I would have probably picked Cruz but u simply cannot ignore what D.Militio is doing. IMO Miltio >>> Cruz

Cruz is a strong forward and an excellent header of the ball but inter have used him on and off and as a sub which hasnt allowed him to have a flowing season.
I agree we need a powerful forward but we do have crespo i suppose.

How is diego milito doing by the way?I think it is between aguero, milito, saviola and cruz for the last two places now.

Im not too sure about Saviola. He is skillful but his goalscoring stats are letting him down and we need a striker who we know can bang them in for sure. I thought he and Cavenaghi were the real deal but both are not scoring like they did for river.

I suppose i would like to see aguero their. He will be player that everyone will know little of and that can be dangerous.

I dont care what anyone else says about argentina getting at least quarter final spot, anthing less than a place in the final will be seen as a failure for me and my fellow argies supporters back here in my home town.

Milito is doing great, scored 20 goals this season. Very fast player, good on the counter and very good dribbling. And good at heading balls ( he is tall). Far superior than Cruz.

I have a very bad news :| :

Messi has not recovered. He wont play against Villareal and is in doubt for Milan. :( thats Barca injuries for ya.

Take milito as he is the man on form. I want aguero in the squad because no team will know what to expect as they know so little of him. I roughly know who is going to be in the squad now but i cannot guess upon who will our keeper.

Im not worried about messi, i’m sure he’ll be fit and ready by the end of april ;)

Yea I know he will be fit for the WC. But I REALLY want to see him play :( I miss him :(

I think we need to take 6 strikers:

Crespo-tevez-Messi-D.Militio-Aguero

wait…a very bad news.

Today the doctor of the selection said that Messi needs a month to recover. Meaning the rest of his season is lost. He only might be able to play in the CL final.

I’ve read that he’s suffered a relapse that has definitely ruled him out of friday’s Villareal clash, and will probably keep him out at the San Siro.

I’m not sure where you heard that he needs a month to recover? Could you give us a link?

Right. Just what I expected to hear. And being out for two months and with one month to get in good shape for the World cup, I think Messi`s chance of making it big this summer is slim.
He misses the rest of Milans season, maybe he will be able to play in the cl final.
I feel like crying now. I am not even sure Pekerman will pick him, I remember someone from the Argie team said that they would not bring any injured players.
And what happens if we get to know that in one month he still needs some weeks to get fit. Just like now. We thought he was back, now we hear he is out for a month. So depressed right now…..

I dont believe we need 6 strikers.Messi, crespo and tevez are going and i agree on aguero going. The remaining place should go to the in form striker at the moment which goes to D.milito.

I seriously doubt messi is out for the season. They said Heinze wouldnt make it and he had a much more serious injury with his cruciates. You just know hez going to put an appearance in against milan. You got to love his attitude though. He was begging Rijkaard to play him earlier this month but it was a bit too soon. I’m not believing anything they are saying at the moment until the actual match comes up.

dude calm down. There are no risk of Messi not being present at the WC. It is going to take 21 for his rehabilitation. This is not a serious injury. It is the same injury…just needs time to heal. Messi will 100% go to the WC. The way I see it is that Messi is gonna be ready for the WC instead of getting burned now. This is like holidays for him. Let Ronaldinho burn himself up :)

argiebargie, Saviola will go to the WC. He is one of Pekerman’s favourites. I dont want to leave Aguero home, he has as much potential to explode in the WC as Messi does.

And lets not rush Messi. Okay I miss seeing him play but I d rather save him for the WC. His injury got worst because he rushed to go back to playing. Barca needs to be careful with him. Muscle injuries are tricky because u never know when they are tottaly healed. Thats why they gave him 3 weeks…I bet his injury would be healed in 1 week but they need to make sure.

I dont remember getting over excited in the first place, im calm as always.

If saviola is going as he is a favourite to then we have cruz, aguero and milito with only one place left. Pekerman is not going to take 6 strikers with him and it will be more difficult for aguero with milito on form. Messi wont get burned up if he comes back now as were coming to the end of the season. He needs the games to get back into the groove.

Whats Milito’s international games goals ratio?

I thought Aguero was more like a playmaker in midfield…you guys are talking like he was a forward…Is he? Have I missed something here?
