Messi Messi Messi Golazo!!! Argentina’s Future?

April 20th, 2007 | By: Julian D | 73 Comments »

Check out the goal one more time, it is truly unbelievable.

http://www.maltastar.com/pages/msFullArt.asp?an=11530

Yep, you all have heard it repeatedly, but cmon this kid is a whiz. Period. What else is there to say about this kid? So young, and so brilliant. What do you all think of him? Is he our future? Or is there more than just Messi in terms of AFA?

Also, now that the Chile game is done, what should Coco Basile focus on? What should he do with players like Ibarra and Palacio, who performed very well against Chile?

Our next big match is a real Fifa friendly against Mexico on May 20, 2007 in Houston, U.S.A. What do you all want to see from Coco’s team for this game?

Let us discuss peacefully.

Julian

Aurelius, I agree about the media (and managers) hype surrounding some U-17 kids.
But I have to say I saw 2 matches by Brazil U-17 and Lula is a total monster.
He’s to me the best upcoming one on one player in the world.

Rune, I think you are wrong about Heinze, everyone could see how amateurish the rest of the defenders are, the first goal Heize followed Kaka although it was not his responsibilty, and the second goal he was taken out by his own teammate, I think it was Brown!!
I don’t think Sir Alex would let go of Heinze, only time will tell.

Horrible game yesterday. Mascherano was trying to build and tidy all this English mess & garbage. English football is fast but really ugly! All these balls lost. Liverpool have Javier, Alonso & Gerrard and they sometimes don’t even use them. I watched a bit the game, Zenden didn’t seem good. And by the way, once more in a game, a decisive counter attacking goal. It’s always the same. Again again & again. I hate this. That isn’t the futbol i love. Too bad there wasn’t Barca this year in semis. English teams are boring, especially Chelski (which depend on Drogba, he’s great). Maybe money from petrol/mafia/drugs/desertion will win this year… Hopeless.

Just to make it clear: I love Heinze. But I just don’t think he has played well this season. There is a reason why Ferguson almost never uses Heinze as a central defender, the reason is that Ferguson do not think he is good enough there. He lacks the speed that Ferdinand has. Heinze is a big favourit with Uniteds fans, but I really think he should leave to a club where he is a first choice player. He has not been that for United this season. Evra has been much better, so that is understandable.

My thoughts

I didnt get a chance to watch neither games this week. One because of work, two because i really didnt care much for them lol.

KAKA - Kaka has always been one of my favorite players. I truelly think he is a great sport. He is another one of those guys that really makes the game beautiful. My respect for him sky rocketed, when he stole the ball from messi out ran both messi and milito to score an amazing goal last year.

Heinze - as you guys have said, he was playing in a position that he never played. however, i thought he did good, at least from what i heard, and the clips that i saw. The goal kaka scored wasnt his fault at all. On one of them he did well to recover, but brown screaned him. there was one great great great tackle had made. Also there was a true beauty long ball he lobbed. Heinze is a monster.

it doesnt look like I am gonna be able to make it to the may 20th game, but i am still trying to work t out. Have a blessed day you guys. you all are awesome.

Masche & co were placed under intense pressure & there was little in the way of options for them to hit being pushed deep with little attacking width or threat.

Chelsea dominated the area & effectively won the game there.

Albo,I didn’t mean to sound demeaning to Lula.He is awesome just that he’s been tagged the new ‘Ronaldinho’ when he is infact just Luis dos Reis. :)

Hello Golazo. I’m not entirely sure about the age qualification rules but Ustari & Cardozo turn 21 in July & August respectively but I’m pretty sure there is some rule which will allow them to play.

The tourney runs from 30th June -22nd July.I’m sure u20 allows players who are still in their twentieth year to play. Then again I’m not entirely certain.

There are rumours suggesting some of the u17 probables like Meza should be inc.in the u20 but I’ll re-iterate the need to win both titles. So keep Meza Chichizola (River Plate goalkeeper)in the u17 etc etc

If anyone can clarify this I’d be grateful.

Chau.

Messay,

Kaka doesn’t play the “beautiful game” because he isn’t constructive. He doesn’t create. To me, he’s a talented STRIKER who counter attacks ALL THE TIME. He needs good players around him. BUT he’s elegant and is physically very very strong. A horse. Messay, we don’t have the same definition of the beautiful game. For me, it’s only possible by being collective and certainly not by counter attacking! You believe Kaka’s gol was amazing against Argentina? I don’t think so. It’s easy to wait a constructive team (which want to build, pass the ball to find an opportunity) in order to counter attack like a traitor. At WC06, France destroyed Kaka by defending cleverly by not alouding him to counter attack. Against an organized and defensive team, Kaka does nothing.

maxilopez, great point. I see your side.

But dont you think counter attack is part of the game as well? i appreciate every part of the game, not just scoring, but the passing, the defending, the movement, the goalie…

The reason i said I think KAKA plays a beautiful game is because, he plays the game with pure passion, and i enjoy what he does on the pitch. you cant tell me what he did against manu isnt great. the first goal was simply outstanding. I know he is brazilian and so on, but i still respect his game. His finishing is deadly, he speed is lethal, he also runs well with the ball on his feet.

Maxilopez, I respect your opinion but I think Kaka is a unique player.
He’s the whole package to me.
Intelligent, creative, technically sound play-maker, tough on defense as a midfielder and able to accelerate and become a striker in a split second.
Ahh, if Riquelme could have that type of acceleration…

Saviola To Madrid A No Go - Agent What seems to have started off as a rumour thanks to a Madrid daily, has duly been put to rest by a Barcelona one.
<a href=”http://goal.adbureau.net/accipiter/adclick/CID=000000fd324d324e00000000/acc_random=21549679/SITE=EN.GOAL/AREA=2L/LANG=US/AAMSZ=300×250/pageid=23848279″><img src=”http://goal-images.adbureau.net/goal/accipiter/images/AE1.gif” alt=”Clicca qui!”width=”300″ height=”250″ border=”0″></a>

Marca carried reports this morning of an agreement between Saviola and Real Madrid, one which would see the Argentine become a Merengue on the 1st of July.

However, the player’s agent, Diego Queiruga - the man alleged to have reached that agreement on Saviola’s behalf - has since told Barcelona based Sport that it is a case of smoke without fire.

Separately, TV3 carried a report revealing that Barcelona will table their offer - 2 million euros per season and up to 1.5 more through incentives - in the coming days.

Left-back Gianluca Zambrotta seemed to have had a chat with Saviola prior to his press conference, the Italian suggesting: “It’s a joke or a lie. Saviola is only thinking about doing a good job until the end of the season.”

Kaka touches less than 50% of the number of Riquelme’s balls. Just look in Champions League: 11 matches played, 9 goals for 41 shots…and ONLY 2 assists. Kaka isn’t a playmaker at all.

Albo, Riquelme doesn’t need to have Kaka’s acceleration because we have Messi! I love how Roman plays. Like Pekerman usually said, Roman accelerates the ball instead of him. His weaknesses are his ambition and psycology, otherwise he’s beautiful.

I think Kaka is a fantastic player. I agree that he is best on counter attacks, but that is a very big part of the game nowdays.
Boca won 7-0!! 2 goals by Palacio and 2 by Marioni. Now Boca will face Velez in the next round. That will be a very tough game.

Yeah BOCA game out to play, they knew they had to win and they gave 110%! I am convinced PALACIO is going to be a great striker for Argentina one day. BOCA’s third goal in the first half from Palacio was outstanding. The guy challenged the defenseman using his quick feet, he went quickly to the right and snapped a shot to the corner and goalie had no chance. Unbelievable this guy. I like him a lot. He is getting better and better. He reminds me A LITTLE like Saviola. Not a lot but A LITTLE. WHat do you guys think?

I would love see Palacio on the roster for the COPA AMERICA. Maybe even a start with TEVEZ? Why not? They know eachother very well from Tevez’s days in Boca. Sure i know you guys are all probably saying, what about CRESPO or MESSI? Yeah i know but, we have so many options… I say we give this tandem a try against MEXICO.

I’m pissed off BOCA has to play VELEZ in the next round…WTF! The only 2 Argentine teams that went through and they have to play eachother??? That means one will be eliminated!! Look at all the Brazilian teams that went through! It’s crazy… I can’t believe River didn’t make it.. Big failure this year in the Libertadores for them..Unbelievable…

Anyways i want to hear what you all think about all this!

cya!

Julian, I agree, Palacio is as good if not better than the best of our legion of forwards.
His scoring/game ratio is probably the best of them all.
About Boca-Velez. let me tell you that Boca players are glad they don’t have to fly for 10 hours and play higher than sea level (Necaxa), plus being in Bs As, Boca bring their fans (la hinchada, loco…) to both matches. :-)

it is alleged that saviola signed a pre contract with real madrid. if it is true then this is fantastic news. now if madrid can only make the ronaldo loan permanent and get rid of cassano they will be set for next season. the will have a dangerous set of strikers for teams to reckon with, with the likes of RVN, robinho, hugain and saviola.
