Meet the Referee
The official to ref the next match has been designated by FIFA. His name? Lubos Michel!
Lubos Michel, from Slovania has refereed Pekerman’s team twice before, and that was against Brazil in the finals of the confederations cup, which ended 4-1, and guess who else?
Yep, also against an Argentina vs Germany friendly. You say what’s the score?
It ended 2-2, the game being played almost a year ago (June 21st), in German grounds (Nuremburg).
The last game he ref’d was Brazil vs Ghana..
So unfortuantely, none of the scores favoured us, let’s hope this time it’s different.

To all those complaining about a ref who has done a fairly good job so far (or, would maxilopez and ameyta dare to say that the red card, the yellow ones, the penalties -btw, one per team-, were bad decisions?). To all of you. Can you answer two questions?
1) Do you think that Heinze should’ve been expelled in the game against Mexico? Wasn’t it a TREMENDOUS help the ref gave us in that match?
2) How come we are the only ones who see a plot against Argentina? If there is a plot, why are we so stupid that we keep on wearing Adidas (who is part of the plot, I’ve read here in another thread)? But, specially, why are we still attending FIFA’s tournaments? Why don’t we organize our own world association? It’d be easy to have everyone with us, but Germany and Brazil, right? We could all wear Reebok, Puma, Lotto

ENGLAND invented the game of football.
So what we say goes
And we say
Brazil, England, Germany & France are the only ones who have won the world cup
Argentina, Italy & Urguay (can’t spell these boozoz)are all Bribing, drug taking, hand balling, diving cheats, and therefore have never won the world cup.
So tuff
If you don’t play fair then we won’t let you play the game in future, as we have the world copyrights we can stop you
ENGLAND RULE

Threequaterlengths ( I suppose you originally wanted that to read: “Threequarterlengths” ):
Congratulations! You are showing here the good old English tradition of
- fair play,
- understatement, and
- matter-of-factness.
Sublime, do doubt.
Oh, by the way, talking of matter-of-factness:
In ‘66, when England was handed the CUP -wasn’t there a little itsybitsyteeneeweeny something about some goal and 3 Soviet refs ?
Ahem.

Germany

And of course, Mr Threequarterlengths was old enough to remember the world cups in 1930, 1934, 1938 and 1950, since those matches were not televised and there is very limited footage for the rest of us youngsters who might remember stuff from 1966 forwards.
For the record, I think Italy won in 1982 fair and square (playing horribly in the group stage, I may add).
I’m not so sure about Argentina in 1978. I still have my doubts about that 6-0 against a Peruvian team that included Oblitas and Cubillas among their players.

Threequaterlengths …its a long time since u guys have invented so many things…Its also been such a long time that brave movements have put an end to ur anarchy and exploitation…So old stories doest hold good now.
Your team along with brazil, and Italy is the most over rated teams in this world cup. If you cannot accept good teams for what they are, please dont try to brag mediocracy..

England Fan:
England rule ?
They ain’t ruling the waves any more and they will surely not rule the ground (of soccer stadiums here in the tournament).
Or, considering some of your spelling: Did you perhaps mean :
ENGLAND RUE ?

Guys like Threequaterlengths are just provoking us… let them write whatever they want, though give them the same treatment you give to graffitti. Don´t get engaged in useless discussions (pretty much as useless as those about a conspiracy to screw Argentina).
Let’s just prepare for what seem to be a couple of tremendous games: Bra-Fra and Ger-Arg.
May the best teams win (I hope they’ll be Fra and Arg, btw)

Thank you LLC and John. You’ve said it all!

This is what I like about football, it is only five more minutes before this historical game and we still don’t know who is going to win the game. I love football is all in how smart you are with the ball. Is not in the refs. they are the last excuse if you loose the game. Just leave everything you got on the field, one team has to go and it won’t be Argentina. If they get to beat Argentina they would have eliminated a very strong team, which means who ever beat the argentinas will win the tournament.

sorry oscar thats plain rubbish, by posting a german-friendly Ref from german-friendly slovakia against Argentina, who played FAR better, the FIFA proved its CORRUPTNESS. money and greed is king. same way as the italians were cheated in korea.
sorry Lubos Michel should really banned from any major game

I agreed with Joe from Austria entirely.
Why referee have too much power in the football match? And how did they get away with murder every time when they don’t do the job properly?? Why rely on the incompetence people when current technology would be more than enough to do the job properly. I meant why don’t they use the camera to judge like they do in rugby.
Lubos Michel of Slovakia is a good example of a bad/corrupted referee. He probably received a handful of cash from the German to ignore every mistake they made, and to pick every single mistake from the Argentine & produce the yellow card to them. Referee like him should be sacked!
Referee like him really give Football a bad name and something for people whose national sport is rugby like New Zealand to laugh & criticise at

I´m so sorry! I´m so sorry for the whole world!
For the International football championships!
Has anyone wondered WHY teh referee has been bought? Has anyone wondered how agressive and mad where the germans after first argentinian goal?
Their GOAL was to know down the goal keeper thing they did only way to win.
If l were german l would feel ashamed, embarassed about winning this way: at “home”, the referee bought, and by “penales”….what a shame.
Corrupt world!
Argentina put the most profesional fair play, Germany just put money…
God bless the pure ones!
Another wonder….why Brazil our brothers in America didnt start playing their football yet??¿¿ ![]()
This has been all arranged…think about it!

told ya an euro team would win, though argentina didnt do much to win that game, made 1-0 and thought it was enough to win the game, to have a secure win a SA team most score at least 3 goals, as i know the fifa is setting up an Euro team to win this year, just like from 1970, to remember, 94 SA = brazil, 98 euro = france, 2002 SA = brazil, 2006 Euro = ???? maybe germany or italy, since referees giving a big help to italy

“if Argentina is that good, they can win with or without the favor of the referee.
Posted from Poland ”
No they can’t
In key calls they should use the instant replay which they have. These games are too inmportant to allow a feable human to decide. Hockey uses it and it works.
The argument of taking the beauty out of the game does not work. How often do we see the guys falling and taking 1 min. breaks to pretend they are in agony. ![]()

Humbly feel Brazil is the best world football team and Argentina is the second one….
Brazil didnt play…at all! same coach same players…
Straight to your point, you can´t win if the referee is stopping every try, you cant win if the other goal keeper is given a paper telling him how our players kick and where…in brief lm watching now italy and Portugal…and its not that good for a final match…Look at France…is this a good game?
What a business my Lord!
l agree with Jeffg lol

i wish i could kill the referee!! that man’s decisions did affect the way ARGENTINES played against robotique GERMANS. yes, i do wonder, why oh why, do such a man get to decide the fate of a team that since the years play the ball the way it should be played!!!
and why is there no punishment to such louts?

Well….l agree with you fullauri….now l have no resentment hot hate at all..lve just watched Germany and Portugal…and again so weird first 45 minutes and the second one….but do you know…lm happy for them God bless the happy people ..however what is so sad: what a huge business is Fifa, the world´s cup federation…lm sad because when we are called one of the most corrupted countries…l think isn´t this corruption? YES it is! so …smiling…;)let´s keep on going playing nice football!
God bless!

shut up u idiot u know pretty well ger won bc blackhand of ref … remember tevez and its broken nose? y almost no german was yellowcarded? what happened to abbondanzieri? hand of crespo when he was near the area? hmmmmmm … its more than suspicious … it was definitively NOT a FAIR GAME

after germany won against argentina, did you saw the german goalkeeper with a little paper ? they knew by some way the argentine players who were going to shoot the penalties…but i dont know , if the germans were who paid for that info. or the argentinians who were bought by them to show that…
but, now, it’s over the ”fair play”, neither brazil, the best team in the world could win…FIFA SUCKS !!
but i have to give my congratulations to the usa national soccer team..you are playing better every match!!
(sorry for my bad english)
