Mascherano to Liverpool
Liverpool have announced the signing of Javier Mascherano from West Ham in an 18-month loan deal that has bent football’s rules.
Rafa Benitez last night saluted the signing. “We have an agreement to take him on loan for 18 months then we have an option to sign him permanently.
“He is a top class player and played at the top level at the World Cup. We were monitoring him when he was with River Plate. The only question is whether he can play to his level in England, but I know he can play a lot better than he did at West Ham.
“We don’t have another holding midfielder and this is a crucial time for us. We will play against West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, Sheffield United and Barcelona twice.”
Benitez added: “Maybe Liverpool can be a better option for him because we can speak in Spanish to him and we play a different style of football that suits him better. Corinthians and River Plate are top sides in their countries and he is used to winning trophies. I think he will have more possibilities with us.”
I think this is the best thing that could have happend to Mascherano. See what happens to people who wait :). seriously he will be a much better fit there than he was at westham. if only Tevez followed him there.
LIVERPOOL is all of the sudden becoming my favorite England team, they now have four Argentinians, Yes FOUR.
They have, Paletta, Insua, Leto (whom they just signed, a young playmaker), and now Mascherano.
great news.
OHHHHHHHHHHH how about our under 20 team, qualifying us for the olympics? If you didnt hear it.
We beat Uruguay in the dying meanutes to grant us a spot in Chine in 08. Messi, Aguero, Gago, Higuain, Paletta, Zabaletta, wow what a force we will have there.
Guys dont sleep on this guy Leto, he might be an answer in the future on the left wing.

Chile, and Uruguay was a better team then Argentina. Too bad Chile lost otherwise they would have gone to the Olympics.

ohhh I dont know about that, Anderatti, I mean. I really do know that we didnt play to our potential, but think of it this way. We were without Messi, Aguero, Higuain, and so on.
I did feel bad for Uruguay though, they did deserve to go. Unfair, but it was also would have been unfair to not see Messi, Aguero, Gago, Higuain, Zabaletta, and the rest of the gang at the olympics

You people didn’t do bad in the Sub-20 Sudamericano. The worst game i saw Argentina Sub-20 play was against Ecuador, though. Tied 1-1.

Now I think Liverpool shall be a great team. With Mascherano its gonna be interesting watching the premier league. Liverpool need to at last win the premiership and they can only do that with the incredible talents from Argentina. I advice Rafa to shop more in argentina.
