LIONEL MESSI!!!! Chelsea Killer
WOW I did not realize how good this guy is and I can not believe he is only 18. HE TERRORIZED THE ENGLISHMEN ON CHELSEA. I wouldnt be surprised if they bomb Argentina for suspected terrorism hahaha. And whoever doesnt think that wasnt a deserved red you have no idea about soccer which made me really mad with the announcer on espn i forget his name exactly who said it shouldnt of been a red. Are you kidding me?
He was not even near the ball he went directly for MESSI while the ball was 3 yards away which is a red card and as for ROBBEN you dirtbag thats what you get for diving in two feet with studs a nice lil souvenir between your legs to remember. Messi opened my eyes. I knew he was good but I didnt know he was that good. The guy has “balls”. 18 years old and showing extreme confidence against an extremely dirty team with an extremely dirty strategy. They even had Ronaldinho playing scared but Ronaldinho still held his own like usual. If Messi would have scored that goal that hit the crossbar I wouldve named him Maradona Jr. haha but hes still not there yet. I guess it goes to show you talent outweighs dirty tactics sorry Mourinho keep telling your team to foul though it puts me right to sleep. Mourinho I HATE YOU you are ruining my boy Crespo who never gets the ball. Stop playing scared you got rid of creating midfielders for “hacks” and now you leave Crespo or Drogba to try and score on 4 defenders by themselves
After I saw this game Messi definitely has to start for Argentina in 06.

He was sick in that game. He gets better every day. He should be paired with Crespo for sure.

Come on Guys dont forget TEVEZ …that kid is sick too they need to start tevez

I agree. Messi alongside a Tevez AND an Aguero in-form might be unlike anything that’s ever been seen. It’d be better than the Messi - Ronaldinho team-up, and better than any combo Maradona was ever a part of. Add an in-form Aimar & Riquelme and you could have the best ball controlling attack in history…
Unbelievable as Messi is, I don’t think Aguero is far behind, and Aguero is 17!!!

Amazing player!

Fernie after the game I just saw Messi play he is definitely starting over Tevez. But JP brings up an interesting point imagine Messi with Tevez and Riquelme dishing the ball like he did for VillaReal today. The possibilities are endless. Euler I must agree with you at first i kind of doubted him but today he showed true character and courage. I honestly thought he was going to be babied by the Chelsea Bullies but wow was I wrong.

Messi is very good but he was rolling about looking to get Del Horno sent off, he should have had yellow only. Why wasn’t puyol sent off in the 2nd half, he had a yellow in the 1st half and made a bad tackle that should have been his 2nd.
I disagree that Chelsea are a bunch of hackers. Most European clubs are a full of fags with ponytails who always hit the deck and roll over at least 3 times looking at the ref with sad puppy eyes.
Messi should have known that the nominations for the oscars has already closed but would not be surprised if he still managed to pick up UEFA’S best actor oscar.
Lets watch him against Rooney, if Rooney had been Del Horno, that little shit messi would have bounced off him like a fly.

Christian my friend when you see the replays try and watch where the ball is. It doesnt matter if Messi faked it or not. Del Horno was no where near going for the ball. It was a blatant attack on the player which is an automatic red card. Del Horno the “smart” player that he is runs passed the ball haha to hit Messi. Glad to see Messi saw it coming probably from his experience in Argentina you cant nutmeg anybody and get away with it haha. and if he was acting good its smart its not like he took a dive. Del Horno made no attempt on the ball so out he goes (smart guy)

Messi is a bomb!! first time i’ve seen him play..his feet are like “gom” which means glue in nagamese..hehe..btw,,guys..wanna know real bad if Messi is in the World cup 2006 squad for argentina?? pls tell me he is..

I cant see Argentina leaving him home so I would say 99.9% he is going to be in the world cup. There is no way you can leave him home unless he gets injured.

yo kris, i kinda agree with you,, del horno was a stupid guy… he know exactly that he cant control messi at all.. the best way is to hurt him.. damn idiot!! btw, cristian, rooney not even in the picture because M. United was so weak n didnt qualified.. hahaha
the thing is messi is too good for chelsea that nite..

Julio Grondona “the boss” of AFA (arg football association) virtually ordered Pekerman to call up Messi after Youth WC last year. Lionel will be in the roster , no question about it, and if he continues playing like he has for Barsa in the last 6 months he will have a place in the starting line-up. Quite a headache for arg. rivals. I am sure Drogba and Robben took notice of him on Wednesday.
So he will be covered, but who will cover Tevez, who can be as incisive as Messi and has better finishing skills at this point of his career?. Not sure if you know this but Messi moved to Spain at 13 and as his talent began to blossom he was offered to play for the Spanish Nat’l team, which he naturally declined.

Chelsea is not a dirty team and I’m sure they are going to prove that at the Nou Camp. That tie is not over yet and history could repeat itself. Mourinho is the best manager around and he’ll show it !
Then for Messi, that young guy is a marvel, lucky Argentina to have such a player.

Here is the list attackers Pekerman has to choose from. Ive heard some promising things about Aguero but very young. Luciano Galletti seems to have slipped everyone’s minds and is brilliant when on form.
WHO WOULD YOU TAKE TO WORLD CUP?
Hern?n Crespo (Chelsea), Carlos T?vez (Corinthians), Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), Julio Cruz (Inter Milan), Diego Milito (Real Zaragoza), Javier Saviola (Sevilla), Rodrigo Palacio (Boca Juniors), Sergio Aguero (Independiente), Luciano Figueroa (River Plate), C?sar Delgado (Cruz Azul), Luciano Galletti (Atl?tico Madrid), Lucas Castrom?n (V?lez Sarsfield), Lisandro Lopez (FC Porto) and Mariano Gonzalez (Palermo).

I’ll take Tevez , Messi , Figueroa and crespo …….even though i dont know about crespo …I think he is more hyped than what he plays, I cant say ive seen him play a real good game… so ill trade him for a soccer ball :0)

As to what Athenes said about Chelsea not being dirty that is probably the biggest lie i have ever heard. Chelsea goes out onto the field to foul. You cant blame them though it is a great strategy. It allows them time to recover defensively stopping all counter attacks and to score a goal on them it either has to be a perfect goal or a mistake individually which leads to a breakdown. Other than that everything is always covered. If Del Horno didnt get that red card it was looking impossible to breakthrough the defence. You cant beat a player by dribbling because there gonna foul u. So the game never opens up.
As for all the talk about who should be brought. Lets just be honest with ourselves in forward I DOUBT strongly you will see anybody other than Messi Tevez or Crespo. Everyone else is just a roster filler or backup for an injured MESSI/CRESPO/TEVEZ

So as I understand your statement on Chelsea beeing a dirty team, you mean as well the same for Argentina ? In a previous post you left in answer to Euler, you said than it was a necessary thing to do, when I finished to write this post,I will find it and remind it to you.
To finish with Chelsea, Del Horno as made a mistake, he’s been sent off, end of the story and from the start of the second half of that game, untill the goal of Chelsea, we didn’t see Barca attacking but on the contrario Chelsea who as been opening up that game. So think twice before to say such a thing. I’m really curious about the return game at the Nou Camp….

Kris I found your comment you left on the topic “No credit ever given to Argentina” on February 13th at 5:42 pm.Read it and tell me than Argentina play dirty or I would never take in consideration any of your future comments.
I just love beeing able to trace the past comments of people, it’s just a fatal weapon !

Athenes I was simply making a point in that post it is a bit of sarcasm and I think I later on say that you cant categorize “countries”/teams as playing dirty but only certain players which i believe i listed Samuel and Ayala.. Well Chelsea plays a style of futbol that contradicts that. Everyone on that team fouls except for the forward. Watch any of chelsea games they play dirty but they play within the rules as to not get thrown out. When I see Argentina in the world Cup I will let you know if they are playing dirty or not but I have never seen an Argentina national team play as dirty as Chelsea did against Barca. I asked a couple of my English Buddies who support Arsenal, Man U., and Tottenham and they all told me Chelsea is known as a dirty team. My dad describes them as an “armored Tank” haha. They play with “stoppers” all over the field and beat you with brute force. I used to be a chelsea fan actually just because i hate arsenal but fouling repeatedly and intentionally makes for a very boring game. I am not saying theres anything wrong with it but Id rather not watch.
As for you taking in any of my future comments into consideration not too sound rude but i really dont care. I write what I see from my opinion. And my opinion is that Chelsea is 1 grimy team. Even the way they allowed their field to be destroyed you would think a big team like Chelsea can maintain a nice field with all the money they have but thats just another reason there dirty.
Basically the difference is Chelsea everyone behind Crespo/Drogba is going to foul you.

As far as I’m concerned, If Messi isn’t in ARG squad for WC 2006, It will be sure that Pekerman has a big problem with his mind. Messi is very intelligent, clever and quick.Like a squirrel. So if ARG team doesn’t want to depend so much on Riquelme, Pekerman will have to put Messi in the line-up.With Riquelme and Messi in the attack, we will have many ways to score,ha..ha..

Totally agree with Christian - although messi is quick and has a great touch he is nothing compared to wayne rooney. He is too small and lack the physique to trouble quality international defenders. We’ll all see who;s right when it comes to Germany in the summer.
Football’s coming home with wayne rooney!

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DAVE??!!!!!!
messi is a monster, last game he tore up the Chelsea defenders and they are one of the best teams in the world cup. besides they are not the same type of attacker, rooney is a true striker while messi plays more of a wing/outside striker. messi’s quickness and technical ability on the ball is matched by only ronaldinho, henry, younger zidane and a few others. if you are criticizing messi and supporting rooney why are you writing on argentina’s blog and not englands???
i hope argentina plays england in the cup, then we will see who steps up

Messi is a superman. He holds everybody spellbound.Rooney is a good player. So,its very funny when we compare him with Messi.

i do agree with kris. messi is indeed an amaging player. the kid has got everything that will make him a born superstar.i saw him playing for the first time and he really impressed me a lot and i am damn sure that everyone liked the way he played. but it is unfortunate that he will be out of action for some weeks. so guys get ready for some mind boggling messi actions ahead in the world cup in germany.long live argentina.

messi talented player but i’ll be surprised if he has a big world cup as its only his first full season at barca, one big performance against chelsea doesnt equate to him being able to bring the world cup to argentina, id love england to win it and with wayne rooney theres a big chance, but it will most likely be brazil that win it with ronaldinho, adriano, kaka, ronaldo and robinho, ’sebas’ chelsea is not in the world cup as they arent a national team. Also have u ever seen wayne rooney play cos he can play in any forward position to the left, right, off the main striker or as a target man, messi is more of a zidane type player in that he operates out wide and comes in to affect the play. plus i hope argentina dont win as like the vast majority of south american teams they dont let the play flow and cause tedious fouls, also last encounter england had with them england won 3-2
