I caught the fever!
It was everywhere in Germany…
In the Mastercard, Coke and Adidas ads, at the fan fest areas and of course, in the stadiums.
I caught it.
I’m talking about football fever.
How do I know I’ve caught it? Lots of reasons…
I’m back in the wonderful United States, it’s 4am in the morning, and I can’t sleep.
Yeah, you could say it’s because there’s a nine hour difference in time between Frankfurt and Los Angeles, but I was awake for close to 24 hours… so I SHOULD be able to sleep.
Nope.
And when I do sleep, I’m DREAMING of our team! Tevez and Messi TOYING with Mexican defenders… Maxi doing flip after flip in mid-air.
When I wake, my throat is still raw from singing in the stands.
It hurts to swallow water, and I crave German beer!
I’m sick, I tell you.
Thank God Argentina plays on Saturday, but if they win, how will I watch their next match while I’m at work?
These are the thoughts racing through my head.
What can I take to cure this?
Actually, I’m not sure if I want to be healed… Maybe it’s contagious. Hopefully EVERYONE else will also catch this illness.
Do the words “We’re coming home, we’re coming home, WE’RE COM-ING HOME” repeatedly dance in your head?
I know you’re searching the internet for the latest news on the national team…
Check your pulse, feel your forehead…
Have you caught it?

I have had the fever since 1986. No cure found yet. No worries, I’m still alive and kicking! GO ARG!

well I have the same problem except I dont see it as a problem.I love the way I feel right now. It is an increadible feeling. I have bought this Messi Jersey that I wear when I go out and when I am watching Arg’s matches. And of course everyone thinks I am weird and have gone crazy, but who cares. I am enjoying every moment of it. I am sure this time we will have it. one more thing during the Arg’matches I sing Vamos Vamos Argentina and considering the fact that I do not speak Spanish and I am not Argentine, everyone in my family goes crazy and asks me to shut up, but I am having fun.
Love you Argentina and will always do

I grew up playing soccer in Utah and at the age of 19 went on a Mormon two year mission to Buenos Aires. I showed up in June of 1986 and you guessed it I was there for all of the 86 tournament lving each moment with the great Argentine people. Sin ce those moments I have attended Argentine games here the USA and hosted parties each time they play in the World Cup. I love the people I love the Culture. My wife is from El Salvador but always cooks me Milenesa or empanadas when Argentina plays. Dale Argentina! Argentina va a salir campeon!! Oh yeah I have seven kids all Argentine futbol junkies!

All,
How many of you are Argentine? I’m not - but a ridiculously avid fan nonetheless. People ask me if I’m Argentine - I say no. They ask me why I support them? Just can’t explain it - all started with Armando in 1986.

I live in Los Angeles and I have been a crazy argentina fan all my life. I have been watching all the games at the El Gaucho and the fever seems to have reached epidemic proportions this time. It’s going to be crazy tomorrow morning. I am sure all the other argentine places in Los Angeles are going to be bathed in a sea of albiceleste.

Go, Argentina!!!!!
I’m so nervous about tomorrow!!!
Should I be nervous or you think Argentina will win without problems?
You never know what can happen, but I really hope Argentina wins and gets to the next stage. They deserve it!!
Go, Argentina!!

Does anybody know if Burdisso will be fit to play tomorrow’s match?? i read on skysport that pekermen will wait for burdisso until last moment to decide his starting line up, but i need to be sure of this. If he is not fit to play, then the mexicans will be pressuring on argentine’s right defense. Coloccini is fine w/ defense but, i don’t see him boosting midfielders like burdisso does. Thats what is worrying me too much. so, if anybody has update on Burdisso,,plz lemme know. I m really looking forward to argentine’s win tomorrow.

Well, I live in Los Angeles.
There’s a pretty big Argentine population out here, so I’m debating whether or not to watch the game at a resturant, or at home on HD…
Maybe I’ll invite a friend or 2 over and just watch the game at home.
I get very nervous watching Argentina. No matter who we play. ![]()

se7en… if Mexico wins… wich i think mexico COULD not saying SHOULD…
YOU BETTER WATCH OUT IN LA.. not saying that you are in any harm or anything.. but it is going to be crazy over there.
you thought the imigration reform potesting was huge, WAit till you see hundreds of thousands of mexicans hit the streets…. WOW, can you imagine waht would happen…
Anyway, I’m not saying it’s going to happen, I will jsut warn you….

I hear you…
If Mexico upsets Argentina, there will be lots of “Sombrerros” in the streets.
Let’s just hope that doesn’t happen. ![]()

As a Germany supporter, I am not too worried about Sweden. But Argentina is most likely to be next. And Argentina, despite
Brazil’s impressive 4 : 1 vs. Japan, are still the top favourites, I think.

Oh, I do have the fever, baby!
Normally, I wouldn’t give a flying sod for football, but when the world cup starts… I turn into Mrs. Hyde and even cry when I see Maradona cheering the team on TV. Maybe the fact that I now live in Spain makes me miss this Argie football thing so much. Besides, let’s face it: the Spaniards have “menos onda que flequillo de chino” when it comes to football and supporters. Anyway… let’s hope our muchachos give us some joy again tonight!
“El día que me muera,
yo quiero mi cajón
pintado azul y blanco
como mi corazón!!!”

Not with your wild play,
