Hammers land Tevez & Mascherano???
Firstly I apologize for the lack of updates. I promise to keep at it regularly from now on. Been busy with life, and got into an accident in my new car where I and my vehicle were just about under water. Long story short, I am ok, but the car needed a lot of expensive repairs.
But let’s talk football. I don’t really know how I feel about this news to be honest, as it hasn’t sunk in yet. I was looking forward to seeing the beast at Manchester United. In fact I was sure I would see him in the Red Devil’s shirt after he went on recording stating that he was a big fan of the side.
Plus there wasn’t much competition at Man U. I am pretty sure he would have proved himself ahead of Luis Saha, and would have managed to become a regular starter alongside Rooney. So here we are, with Tevez at West Ham, which isn’t a bad outfit to be honest, just not a huge name like Man U.
I suspect that perhaps Tevez wanted to be as close to friends as possible. With Mascherano definitely going to West Ham and Scaloni already there, Tevez would have had less trouble adapting.
Let us hope that Tevez can help sky rocket West Ham to the first position on the premiership. It would be similar to the story of another Argentine footballer of the past, who had a similar physique, and helped a little club known by the name of SSC Napoli. *wink*
Ok so West Ham aren’t in nearly as much water as Napoli was — no pun intended.
One thing is for sure, a lot of us are going to watch the West Ham games more closely. And I have a feeling that West Ham is about to gain a lot more fans.

Well well.now…for those who say it’s a waste they go to West Ham i ask you to cast your minds back to 84 when a certain Deigo Maradonna signed for a @small club@ called napoli.they were in exactly the same situation as West Ham and look what they went on to achieve.he was the graetes player at that particular moment but he had no reservations about going to a smaller club cause he took the sole credit for winning the league with them.
tevez and mascherano will not only excell and sucseed at upton park they will thoroughly enjoy playing their too.
great news for football in general, you should all be pleased instead of bemoaning for some ridiculous reason.football needs it cause i for one am totally p….. off with the same old bloody clubs snapping up all the best players.let their be a revolution from here on in and save the game that most of us love and enjoy for the right reasons.
many congrats West Ham.

There is no problem with them going to a smaller club but many think this deal stinks because they suspect Chelsea and the oligarchs might be involved in some way.
Btw, Tevez/Masch are no Maradona. Maradona was one of a kind. His mere presence on the field was enough to inspire his teammates to feel unbeatable. Tevez and Masch are great players but far from Maradona. I would love to see them emulate what Maradona achieved with the underdogs but that might be asking too much.

do another line maradona. if your not offering no-one has any interest in your 2 bit comments. you still owe my cousin in napoli for your habit. pay your bills dio cane!

Maradona, don’t try to explain them the problem, they are 10 year old kids. So naive.
Guys, West Ham will be like a hotel telling the players: “boys, stay with us one year, and if you like London, you could then go the Chelsea!”.
You should understand that when West Ham is going to sign the contract with MSI, your club will kill his future for 10 years. Just like Corinthians which is the Brazilian Real Madrid now. A circus that buys only players abroad under MSI contracts. As CSKA Moscow, by the way.
Don’t you people find suspicious that Blatter, FIFA or UEFA doesn’t move a finger with all this situation?

Steve & co maxi & the rest of the bloggers here know their football. There is no need to resort to insulting comments which reveal your immaturity.
As I explained above its not because West Ham are as you imagine a small club. Its because as Argentinian fans we are concerned the control certain Russian crooks are having over players destinies & the pressure they are exerting on the AFA at all levels.
Imagine a global multinational company ordering McLaren to play certain players(even when out of form & dictating to which clubs those players would go). There would be uproar.
In the short run its an exciting prospect to see how far these 2 can elevate the Irons as Ardiles & Villa helped SPurs to 2 FA Cups & an UEFA cup but if it turns out to be that the crook Roman was behind it all & they end up at Chelsea next season it doesnt do you any favours.Indeed it might well upset someone like Reo-Coker for instance into moving in the summer if he is not selected because Pardew will be expected to play these 2 every time & it could disrupt the harmony of the team spirit as Carlitos can be very temperamental & far more so than that other little genius Paolo di Canio.
Though I do wonder if mystery injuries will rule them out when Chelsea come calling to play.
And Danny you say this makes the league more competitive. If its another consortium behind the purchases all that will happen is that the league will be even more divided than it is with a few rich clubs always challenging for honours & the likes of even well suppported & funded clubs like Newcastle or Charlton sole aim being to survive in the EPL.And as for the minnow clubs like Reading or Watford well just being there would be all they could aspire to.
The league needs a revamp in terms of a salary cap to level the already biased playing field. Football dreams died in 1992 in the Premierships creation. Never again can a club move up the pyramid to challenge for honours & not even a club like Nottingham Forest take a stab at the title.
Justice what kind of clown are you ? If you were a comedian people would be throwing rotten fruit at you in seconds. You’re worse than pathetic.Do you need someone a girl perhaps to look after you ?
Maxi excellent summation of the players involved.Of these Wagner Love has moved to Feyenoord surprisingly enough(Hiddink is a close friend of crook Roman by the way which is perhaps how he obtained the position of Russian NT trainer). Carlos Alberto mark 2 is the real star in this list & conveniently being kept out of the reach of other European clubs for the present.
I dont think Blatter who himself is corrupt is that keen to pursue an investigation. Roman has cleverly made sure there are no visible links in terms of contract material or any form of documentation that link him to his associates that could be used in an inquiry.
PS:Maradona wasnt the greatest player of that moment but in all of footballing history to date.

I really don’t undertsand this strange sense of sadness and wastefulness for Tevez and Mascherano some poeple have talked about. West Ham’s a small club abd if we have got the pair for one season so be it. Pardew is astute enough to plan round this and if we can get a couple of trophies and a small % of the profit…great. For West ham it’s a win-win situation.
As for the players they are going to get first team football, a taste of one of the best supported clubs in the EPL and will develop there game far more than they would by being just another “galactico” in a team of stars.
Has football suffered? Maybe but it’s within a context of the whole game changing and weather we like it or not small family run clubs are history. Since the day clubs were floated on the markets it was clear that it would get more and more commercial.
I do feel the a lot of the negative comments about the move are partly motivated by not thinking little clubs like West Ham have any right to players like these and that it could upset the established apple cart.
As Hammers Fan I am chuffed to have to world class players, even if it’s for a season.

Well said aurelius. It has nothing to do w/ West Ham really, we as fans are worried about the behind the scenes power struggle over these players, which inevitably could end up really stifling these players down the line. Come on, even u hammer fans must admit, a week ago, you would’nt even have dreamt about tevez and masche going to WHU, not that there is anything at all wrong w/ the team, but when u have teams like arsenal, man u, milan, lyon knocking at their doors, how in hell did they “choose” WH??? really, that did’nt surprise anyone that’s a hammer fan?? lol, i’m just saying, we have a reason to be worried when there are some very shady ppl pulling the strings behind these players.
At any rate, i do wanna congratulate West Ham fans, i think it’ll be great for your team, and i for one, will definately be watching more West Ham matches. I also do agree, that this will be good for the league b/c at least it opens things up a bit…i just hope this ends up being actually be a good thing for the players themselves too.
Btw, i dont think u can compare maradona at napoli to this situation…maradona was a force to be wreckoned w/, and as good as tevez and masche are, they’ll never be that good. What happened w/ maradona and napoli will prob never happen again in our lifetime, it was just one of those unbelievable things.

Guys, There is a concrete evidence that, there is an undisclosed offer on the table from an UNKNOWN group to BUY west ham united. This offer is being looked at by the owners of west ham deeply. there were some heavey rumors in London if this offer has to do with the deal for TEVEZ and MASCHERANO, but the assigned board who is observing this offer, made a comment saying the offer to buy the team has no relation with the transfer of tevez and masch.
As AURLIUS and MAXILOPEZ have said, there are some fishy things going on. On my opinion i think someone that is not in relation with MSI is trying to buy the team JUST BECAUSE OF THE TRANSFER, because West Ham could now become a soccer powerhouse just because of these two players, at least a buddy of mine from london beleaves this is the case.
Either way AURLIUS or MAXI do yall know more on this topic??????

what do they know, they probably like most of you never heard of West Ham until 2 or 3 days ago.the simple truth of the matter is is that we are about to be taken over buy a consortium known as the billybobberswagdealcats and their chief in command colonel hamish mctageth has assured us all that along with the 2 argies guaranteed at least 2 new cleaners,a brand new state of the art tea shop, blankets for when it gets a bit chilly and furthermore a good singalong before kick off.hope that answers your question.

England is no place for south americans to play football and improve their skills.
The should play in Spain or Italy which is culturally easier for them, and the calibre of football is better.

Very well said john.the league’s in italy and spain are a million times better than that of england.
COME ON YOU AMMERS!!!!

Odd ARRY considering I’m English & know the history of the club from the time it was founded by members of an iron works(Thomases) right up to the present day.
Messay the rumour is that an oligarch (unamed at present is in the running & may be the same one who was interested in purchasing Aston Villa last year & may be this Georgian crook Badri).
But its all cloak & dagger at the moment.Everything will resolve itself over the next month or so as the investigative journalists get to work to unravelling this deal.
Have to agree with John as well. But mentally like Heinze Mascherano should settle very comfortably into English football.Carlitos may be more of a difficult transition for the player.
However given the strength of the EPL financially & a new mor lucrative TV deal next summer it may well be that this is not ablip but sees more Argentine & S.American players coming to the EPL.Arca has done well too .The ones that failed were too young to settle the likes of Marinelli at Boro for instance.

Aurelius, I am just curious as to why Carlitos will have a hard time adjusting to EPL. Please elaborate since you are an English man after all. May be you know something that I don’t. Please share. Thanks

aurelius and others, don’t bother respndonding to the obsessed italy psycho from Canada “justice” and his many aliases. He goes on a lot of blogs here, posts with different names and always posts the same boring link (which thankfully I’ve never clicked on) - he must have posted it a zillion times. He’s not a football fan, he just uses the game to pound his chest over his italianness. Just ignore him.
As to Argentine players going over to the EPL - culturally Spain or Italy certainly may be more amenable to them, but the pace of the EPL is very rugged and fast. I think the experience will toughen them. I think it’s a good for players to have experience in different leagues from different countries (esp. in cultures very different from their own) - it makes their skills more dynamic and more flexible. Whether or not they should STAY there for more than a year or two is another question.

By the way, interesting stat about the EPL: Out of 734 players spread over 32 teams during Germany’s 2006 World Cup, the English League comprised 107 players, the most of any league (Germany was a distant second with about 70 players). By contrast, the Italian and Spanish leagues contribute very very few players to the tournament. Italy’s the most insular league in football.
