Gonzalo Rodriguez’s Injury Dashes Hopes for World Cup
The injury news keeps coming in with reports that Gonzalo Rodriguez has torn a ligament in his left ankle. The injury will keep him sidelined for up to two months, effectively eliminating any chance he had of playing for the Albiceleste.
At this point the last one standing gets to play in Germany…

Pekerman never considered him to begin with. It is sad because I consider him one of our best defenders.

I also really loved the way this kid plays…but remember he is very young. In reality, we need experienced guys like Ayala, Heinze, Samuel, etc… I even like Burdisso a little bit… So all in all i’m not too disappointed regarding Gonzalo’s injury…

Yes but we would have been a good sub. And Burdisso isnt playing well at all. At least we have Gabi Militio.

I feel bad for him, but he wasn’t making the squad anyway.

I think it is a bit too negative.

I believe he’s the best back-up behind Ayala. I wonder if Ayala got injured, could it be Colocini or Burdisso?

Has anyone been following the BBC buildup of tonight’s champion’s league game, arsenal v villareal? It’s almost like England (though without any english players!) versus Argentina. I would love to see the British hype deflated. I think it’s an important night for Riquelme: can he live up to the pressure? He and Sorin are likely starters for the NT and if they do propel the yellow submarine past the gunners, they will have the confidence to excel at the WC. I think it’s key that Villareal score an away goal, a 2-1 loss is not that bad.
