Bilos Won’t Play for Croatia After All
Just a couple of days after saying he was thinking about an offer to play for Croatia in the World Cup, Boca Juniors winger Daniel Bilos has come out and said that he will not play for Croatia after all.
Bilos’s agent Hugo Issa said: “Daniel was very excited by the offer, and last night he thanked Croatia but said his dream was to defend the honour of his nation.”
With the number of injuries we are having we might need Bilos after all. Let’s hope not. This looks to me like a guy trying to save face since there was never a certainty that he would even make the Croatia team.

it would have been very difficult, to say the least, given the quality of the other croat attackers he would have to compete against.
however, biloš always has said that argentina is his first pick, and in the end he proved consistent.
by the way, maradona’s grandmother was croat, too.
while i personally am glad biloš won’t join the croat team (not because i think that he’s a mediocre player, but since i believe that this would disrupt the atmosphere among the players), i can understand why he opted between the two sides for so long and i don’t blame him. he plays football for a living after all.
on a side note: your friend kris should do his homework next time and not call a side “nobody” that later beats argentina with moderate effort. what goes around, comes around.

Tomislav you get idiots of every nationality in the world but i can assure you most the argentina faithful do not think your nobodies. Pekerman has praised you and holds you in high regards for upcoming world cup. I believe Croatia will go a long way in the world cup with its hardworking group of players. No team is a nobody in the world cup. I wish your team the the very best in the world cup.

An interesting fact to note is that an astonishing 85 to 90 percent of argentinians has european ancestry which include italian, german, spanish, irish and welsh amongst many.
Heinze is half german and italian.
Coloccini, Scaloni, zanetti, Galletti of italian descent.
Messi is a italian name also with other players of Spanish ancestry. Camoronesi was born in argentina but chose italy as his nationality.
The remaining percentage are of the indians that lived their for many years.
I honestly never knew so many argentinians has european ancestors. Interesting.

Yes, Argentina is considered the Europe of South America.

angiebargie,
now worries — all i am saying is that one should never be too vocal or overconfident ahaead of a game (that goes for many croats, too — must be the southern temper we have in common).
all i can say is that i like argentina and brazil, not only football wise, but the countries and the people, too — i have a number of friends from there and they all rock.
as to argentina, that chimbote cream is outstanding! i think i’m addicted.
