Best Eleven?
Germany will be a difficult challenge for Argentina.
They are known for winning balls in the air, tactical passing, physical play, speedy wingers and powerful outside shooting. Miroslav Klose quietly leads the tournament in goals scored and Lukas Podolski is an unconventional threat.
Since their 4-2 win over Costa Rica, they have held their opponents scoreless.
They get better and better with each game.
How will Argentina counter?
If Pekerman sticks to his guns, we pretty much know most of the line-up.
Pato will be in goal.
Ayala, Heinze and Sorin will start as well.
Burdisso, if healthy, should also start over Scaloni or Cufre, both who have been unimpressive.
Midfield is where it can get interesting…
Maxi will be there, as should Masche.
Cambiasso could be replaced by Lucho.
In my opinion, this would be the right decision. Lucho brings more precision passing and possession is very important against “Ze Germans”.
He’s a powerful body, where Cambiasso is a bit undersized.
Riquelme and Crespo will start. They’re always a given from now on.
Saviola?
He didn’t shine against Mexico. Tevez, Messi and Aimar added fire in that game. If one of these players don’t start, they should come in as subs.
Maybe we’ll see a surprise.
Who would you like to see against Germany?

England 3 - 2 Argentina
England 1 - 0 Argentina
I remember this, is that the game were Argentina played with all their reserves and none of their main players, made 6 substitutions and still were outplaying england for 86 minutes of the game, in fact Riquelme was doing it singlehandedly. It’s sad England took it so serious and still barely survived.
and It’s very hypocrytical for you to mention the 1-0 game were Micheal Owen again dived in the penalty box just like in 1998 haha, thats a real ugly cheater, and iit’s the only way England can win a game, its very pathetic.

I’m german, i play and love football, that’s why I hate german style of football since 20 years, when i was a kid, cause i saw Maradona and other international players.I saw, that football is not only run, fight and headers.I began to hate german style and german players, because they can show me nothing on the ball. They only have luck and easy teams against them in Worldcup-Tournaments.
I can’t believe, that they serious think, they will have a chance against Argentina.Yes, they won 4 games, but against such worse teams.Should germany really win, then only with the help of the referee, cause FIFA want it, like against Sweden.
Not one german player would have a chance to sit on the bench of the argentinian team.
It would never be easier for Argentinia to win this year the Worldcup.
Brasil, Italy, England are in bad form and the others should also be no problem for them.
Sorry, for my bad school-english.

I guess Crouch pulling Sanchos hair to score the first against Trinidad & Tobago is not cheating ?
And to ENGLAND TILL I DIE you wouldnt know the first thing about English culture at all.
I dont think the likes of Betjeman Spender & co have much to worry about.
Your moronic diatribes & pseudonym along with those from Mace & Honest Diego clearly show you for the chavs you are.
It follows considering the English football team are a bunch of uneducated chavs.
And Northern Ireland 1-0 England. A great team indeed.

I spoke today with a German guy. He said they (people) were not very confident because though they had won, the games were against easy teams. And that this one would be their first difficult match.
Anyway, he said, Germany had a good team and he expected to see a very nice match. He said that Argentina had been playing extremely well, and they acknowledged this.
After the WC? I’ll take a one vacations week and then I guess I’ll get my blog abstinence syndrome ![]()

I am an ‘Argie’ living in the UK and I have got to admit that Diego does have a point. We cheated to win in ‘86, there is no argument on this as the replay shows it all. It was a sad day for football, Argentina and everyone watching. Infact I was so disgraced by my country men that I left the country and came to the UK to live. I now understand fair play and how to win a game without the use of diving or hands!!
Diego, you have my full support. Good on you for pointing out the disgrace that is Argentinan football.
Oh and Izzy Dillon, its nice to see 1 Sweed who is not too drunk to type.

ZIGZAG WITH LANGUAGE LIKE THIS IT APPEARS YOU ARE THE UNEDUCATED ONE.
IT WOULD BE GREAT TO FIND AN ARGENTINE WHO IS EDUCATED ENOUGH THAT HE CAN MAKE AN ARGUMENT WITHOUT BAD LANGUAGE.
