ajNYHC,

If the team is not united and well balanced, having 4 fast defenders will be useless.

Aimar and Riquelme will be around in 2010. Aimar is magnificent and excellent in short passes.

Aimar never had his chance to start with the NT even when Riquelme had retired. Don't minimize his talent only because 2 coaches didn't start him. He quit Valencia because of Carboni. This year, Zaragoza will probably be in the top 4 of la liga. I hope Aimar will shine. Last year, he had no defensive midfielders beside him.

I'm actually glad to see a few players in Basile's side. Notably Garay And Sosa and Daniel Diaz. I think Basile understands that Riquelme won't be around neither will Aimar. IMHO Aimar is a shadow of what he used to be at Valencia. Time for the young guns to blend in with the more experienced ones (Maxi, Lucho, Mascherano) and play Basile's type of football. Also defense this time around has speed - which was clearly lacking in the Copa America.

Maybe guys like Aimar, Crespo, Cambiasso have not been picked in order to rest. But why doesn't Basile explains this?

You are right Vick, there is only one single Canto. Eric would have never signed a MSI contract, he would have spit on Kia's face! Haha.

I love to see that Pato is out. Do you want to delete Pato? Yes? Click. Now it is Ustari and Carrizo's turn.

Agree with you Aurelius. De Michelis should be tested. Samuel too.

Aimar10, i don't understand either why Basile picks Insua. He likes his Boca players. But don't forget that this friendly means really nothing. Our guys must rest during summer. Another game for Zanetti, one day he'll get injured. But maybe he's just a alien?

Alexa, it's funny when you see players living in your building. But it's not that fascinating. I saw some players in the street but i've forgotten who. At that time, my father was an engineer so we were living in a very nice place in Milan.

We went to the stadium each weekend to watch Inter & Milan games during 7/8 years! I saw the best players of the decade. I saw Zidane twice. Believe me he was outstanding, no comparaison with the other players. He comes from another planet. After the game, i lost my voice. It was really incredible. My father and me couldn't belive this. He was playing at la Juve, a very tactical team, and was just dancing. He never lost a ball. NEVER. I never saw him losing a pass during 180 mns. He was keeping possession for la Juve, Inter or Milan couldn't play. A maestro. I also saw Batistuta destroying Inter & Milan, Georges Weah, Laurent Blanc, Ronaldo, Thuram, Desailly, Cannavaro, Nesta, Veron, Crespo, Salas, Djorkaeff, Gullit, Ridjkaard, Maldini, Vieri, Trezeguet, Inzaghi, Del Piero... can you imagine? I also saw some CL games. Guys i'm so lucky for this. The Argentine people i remember the most are Batigol and Crespo. They were frightened by everyone in the stadium. Impressive. I saw Veron (Parma), Simeone (average but a leader), Redondo (i don't remember well, i was only 13 years old), Sensini, Ortega (Sampdoria, a superb volley on the post, very spectacular player), Chamot, Ayala (Milan), Samuel, Zanetti. etc.

Tevez should be in a good position to succeed in the EPL, though I'm curious to see how it plays out for Man-U.
With options such as - Tevez, Rooney, C. Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson up front, it will be interesting to see what tactics Sir Alex employs.

Manolo - glad to see another fan of "The King of Old Trafford". His goals, vision, passing , off-field antics, ads, -make him unique. Love him or hate him, you JUST CANT AVOID HIM!

Aurelius - Cavegol by all means has been a disappointment so far. I expected (and still expect) a LOT LOT more from him. He's wasting it.
And can someone fill me in on Higuain? I mean, what's so special about him? The one thing that he's got going for him is probably work ethic. Other than that, i don't see any supreme talent, vision, speed or an eye for goal that supposedly is to set him apart from the rest of them mortals? Honestly, what am I missing?

I am disappointed.

- Why no Aimar?
- If Mascherano can make it from EPL, why no Tevez?
- Why are Federico Insua and Coloccini in the squad? I am not sure if they are good enough to make the NT.

Well I like the goalkeeping selections for one thing.

Still don't know why Gaby is in or Colocinni or Insua(no Aimar ?).I'd rather have Emiliano in than F. Cambiasso is omitted too.

Otherwise its a good youthful selection testing ahead of the WCQs & Olympics & bold with Lavezzi being added.

I'd have liked to see Dimichelis recalled(what must he do ?) to the back as a solid reliable thinking defender with height & Aguero upfront.

Higuain is a shame.Next friendly he ought to be fit along with Cavegol who all things being equal have found his shooting boots to be in the frame again for selection.

Maxi lovely stories. Papin was superb for a while, a pity perhaps he was not born a few years earlier to link up with the likes of Giresse ,Platini & co.

Hi all,

just soiling my pants with work, work and some more work.

Maxi m'man! you've been rubbing shoulders with the big guns eh? Man, if I saw one of those players outside my door some morning, I think I'd shit myself.

Maxi, you also mentioned that maybe carlitos can win the hearts of the Man-U fans and be the new Cantona.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tevez (Asil etc would be proof of that). I'd want him to remain just that. And honestly , in my opinion, there's only ONE ERIC CANTONA.

What a player, and more importantly - what a character. it's folks like him who bring the charm and character to football and make it so different! I'll never , ever, ever forget his celebrations. He is one of the only reasons why I am ok with Man-U and I started to LOVE EPL.

I think i've started fantasizing again.
