atleast for us thats not the case man...starting from Diego...to Riquelme, Aimer, Tevez and Messi...youth systems have been the back bone for Argentina. You may also recall a certain Ronaldinho if you like and not to forger Rui Costa.

And please...."we" sounding creepy...dont be such a silly nationalist man...the beauty of this sports in that its just beyond such boundaries. A real soccer fan will appreciate good talent whereever they see it. I see it in Argentina and Mexico now and ofcourse in Portugal. Those are the teams I cheer for. Ronaldinho is class apart, he has style and character and creativity...but KAKA...not my type...he can be the world footballer of the year, but when he finishes his career, he wont be in football books as a role model for the future to learn, but Ronaldinho, yes.

The problem I have with you is you are so stubborn...even when u are appreciating Argentina, you try it from the "politically correct" BS.

tuhin, anand -

pretty simple response. Who needs Kaka, Ronaldinho, etc...why, Brazil does, of course. And Argentina needs Brazil to have them, otherwise skeptics of their "best team in the world" status, like myself, will always be criticizing folks like you who claim them to be the best team in the world.

I'm happy to see Argentina playing so well, they have a very nice style of football to watch. Messi is the class of the world, no doubt. But until 2010, critics like me won't shut up. I really hope your adopted team ("we" coming from you guys is still creepy) performs like this in the next world cup. Until then, cheers.

Oh, one final point. U20 sides that perform well are hardly the best measuring stick of future success. If U20 players are that good, they play with the national squad. A good U20 team is a formula for highly touted underachievers - just take a look at the "golden generation" of Portugal.

Again, cheers.

Thedude....I suggest you should visit this place more often...the contributors for this blog, atleast a good 80 percentage of them are internationals. We always accept criticism...we are most harsh in doing that on our players...we respect every oponent...and beating kaka-ronaldinho less brazil talk...man I just dont get that...are they the last names in Brazilian football?
I suggest you to take a look at the sub 20 sides of Argentina ,Mexico and Spain...
peace

I hear you john - it seems this blog is for Argentinians (naturally, of course) and for creepy international types who want to slob Messi's knob. Hardly a place for criticism, I guess.

Anyway, beating a Kaka-and-Ronaldinho-less Brazil is hardly a world-beating feat for a team of Argentina's caliber. They should beat them, but I'm not convinced of Argentina's top-dog status until they can demonstrate this in 2010.

I like beautiful football, but winning football is more important.

Regardless, it was a good match. Mexico was thoroughly outclassed (unlike in WC '06, which I thought they should have won) and Messi and Riquelme look really, really good.

Here is a quick and simple Math lesson for you.

Kaka Riquelme YA ...Obviously

MILAN = GREATNESS

Forza MILAN!!!!

Finals of Copa should be a very good one and I predict very humbling for Argentina.

ps. dude you are bang on with your comments. However this blog is only for cheering the greatness of Aregentine soccer and not to honestly analyze the game or their lack of WC success.
