Aimar has often combined well with Messi. That goal was another example.

I’m not too confident with Gabi Milito. I don’t know why they don’t try Burdisso in that position. It’s his natural position too.

Man, if Aimar keeps playing like this it’s gonna be tough to select who to start. Lucho’s good, Mascherano, Gago, Aimar, Messi, Tevez, Cambiasso, fuck..

Coco must be losing some sleep

Thanks God the game is over. well second half was alot better than the first. As other people mentioned it was because Mascherano and Lucho came in. We started playing real football and we had more chance of scoring just got unlucky. But defensively we sucked big time. Everytime algeria was attacking I was expecting a goal. Our midfield was also doing horrible with Gago. As soon as Mascherano and Lucho started we dominated the midfield and the game. Zanetti started playing fantastic while in the first half he was sucking too. We really need heinze even though he makes mistakes he is more realiable. Pato was having a horrible game he wasn’t even trying to save. And I do not like Basile, and still think we need Riquleme.

You’re right MAXILOPEZ, Lucho is really needed, like against France, he was awesome, keeping the ball and findind space with amazing passes. You know what ? Lucho looks like a playmaker !
In fact I think the right middle is:
Mascherano Cambiasso
Lucho
Then Messi OR aimar, as the fourth Offensive midfielder !

In the Offense:
Crespo and Messi or tevez ! In fact the second goal came from a messi/tevez combination and the fourth from a messi/aimar combination (the most spectacular).
So it is great ! WE HAVE A TEAM, with 2 options.
ZANETTI has been lethal in his right back position, so burdisso must stay on the bench sinc he can’t cross, ans so can’t play right back.
Pinola is average, I think we’ll see Heinze soon.
TO RESUME:
——A JOKER——-
ZANETTI–AYALA MILITO HEINZE
–MASCHERANO CAMBIASSO
——-LUCHO
MESSI (aimar)
TEVEZ(messi) –CRESPO

Wow, what a strange game. We will have to talk for weeks! I hope everyone here understood how much Lucho is important for the NT. We must also not forget that Algeria is a bad team, but they played like Brazil during the first half: they were so motivated!

That game proved many things:

- Lucho & Mascherano are essential. They defend & slow the game.

- The Messi/Aimar combo is devastating! Their short passes are amazing. Aimar even made me forget Riquelme.

- Messi, Aimar, Zanetti, Mascherano, Lucho, Cambiasso, TOGETHER never lose a single ball. So impressive.

- Pato must be a sub

- Gago was a ghost. Incredible. For me, he lost his place in the starting lineup.

- D.Milito was good and useful

Then, as usual:
- Burdisso is unable to build as a RSW
- G. Milito throw to many balls. He loves English football or what?

VAMOS LUCHO ! RIQULEME IS OVER !
NOW IT IS LUCHO TIME !
He is a kind of riquelme’s greatness, without slowness and “never defendness” LOL !
LUCHO-AIMAR-MESSI-ZANETTI-TEVEZ are magic !

While a team like Algeria plays with a big name like Argentina, they just strategize how to hold defensive soccer and hold Messi and Tevez.

All of a sudden, when they play for the first time, they suddenly find them vulnerable than what the are advertised to be. And then they take a lead.

But then their coach never taught them how to protect the lead coz he never expected it was going to happen. So I take this win as just a lack of proper strategy and analysis from Algerians.

I can see Argentina having a hard time even with USA.

Till then, you guys keep hiding the reality in whatever ways you want. But we need a revolution in the basic structure of the team to make things happen.

ya but if you play Messi & Aimar together, where do you play Tevez?

that’s the problem for me.

judging from what i’ve seen, i’m not sure about Leo Franco, or Ustari, I’d stick with Pato.

Gabi Milito looked lost quite a few times. Burdisso ISN’T a RB, i don’t understand why they play him there!

Zanetti-Ayala-Burdisso-Heinze

———Mascherano———-

—-Lucho——–Cambiasso(Gago)

———Messi/Aimar———–

—-Tevez/Messi - Crespo——

I still think Messi should be the CAM, but the only exception i make is if Aimar plays, who combines well with Messi.

Basically, I agree with wandiego, whoever he is.

i still think Gago deserves a chance to play in Cambiasso’s position…

OK, my friends. If some of you find a clip of the goals, please post them as soon as possible. I can’t wait to se Messi’s second goal from the Aimar pass. I remember that Messi and Aimar also played very good together against Angola and against Mexico. They really understand each other.

Like I said before, G Milito is always capable of making big mistakes, I just don’t trust him 100 %. I wish Gonzalo would come back to his best again soon. Heinze…I don’t trust him 100 % in that position either, I think he should be the left back. SO..that leaves us with…? I really don’t know….Pato has had a good season for Getafe, so I hope this was just his one day in hell. I like Gago more than Masch, but that does not mean shit, bring in Masch, Gago is not good enough yet. And if Maxi is not included in the squad(wich he probably won’t be), then it is important that Lucho starts every game.
The Copa team:
————-?
Zanetti-Ayala-??????-Heinze
——–Mascherano
Lucho————Cambiasso
———-Messi
—Tevez———Crespo

Messi ,Tevez & Aimar ( need I say more )play well as a unit with high fast tempo passing capable of splitting any defence.

Its not the forward movement thats a problem or retaining posession its the defence.

I think Carizzo should at least have started ahead of Pato to give him some experience. I always have expressed concerns over G.Milito. Burdisso isn’t a natural full back & lacks the pace of a modern day one.

Ayala can’t cover everyone which is why it’s a huge shame that Gonzalo/Garay are not fit. I would withdraw Zanetti to the right back spot and withdraw Messi to the right handed spot & allow Aimar ,Riquelme (who deserves a recall)to pull the strings.

Okay Gago didn’t shine as he should but one poor game hardly constitutes the slating he was getting. Stick him alongside Masche or even Lucho.

It was bad that we did concede three goals but we could have scored up to eight quite easily. Coco has & will work on the defensive side of things otherwise we will probably be also rans at the Copa.

Not to worry all these games are trial runs. The squad is shaping up after a long tiring season.

And dont forget Brazil could hardly poke one past what is currently a very middling Turkey team. :)

Btw Maxi as a new blog has opened when will you post up your analysis of the QF against Germany on youtube ?

Chau.

I hope this game serves as a wake up call to the team so that it addresses its weaknesses before copa.

PDP, Pato conceded 2 goals tonight. 100% is fault. Then, at WC he injured himself because of Klose…but also because he made that horrible mistake on that German corner.

Believe me, Carizzo is an Argentine Buffon! He’s so good.

PDP, you don’t know where to put Tevez? Put him on the bench. I love him but Saviola is more collective and this is important. We are not Brazil, we are Argentina. We must pass, have loooooooong possessions. Use Tevez against physical opponents OR use him instead of Crespo!

If Messi is the only playmaker of the starting team, he will get kicked by 2 or 3 opponents at the same time. He needs Aimar with him. This will bring coaches and other teams completely mad.

Yes WamDiego, Lucho has replaced Riquelme. He’s less elegant but he defends! And he keeps the ball so well. Like Zanetti, he keeps it, runs slowly with little steps..and then gives it at the last moment to a free man.

PDP, nowadays, many teams use central defenders on the flanks. Burdisso is good in defence but is unable to build. You know this. Shall we put Zanetti who is really a RB (not that good in defence, waits a lot) or use Burdisso who attacks badly (but presses well)? I believe we must think about the teams we face. Against offensive teams, put real SW. Against defensive and counter attacking teams (Italy, Germany) put central defenders on the flanks.

Agree at 200% with you Aurelius, as usual.

Not done the ARG-GER videos yet. I don’t have much time these weeks (months). We have time. The WC is in 3 years lol.
