ARGENTINA SQUAD ANNOUNCED. HIGUAIN PICKS ARGENTINA OVER FRANCE
I know it has been forever since I have posted anything. That isnt because i didnt have anything to say. I just hated writing something knowing that i couldnt interact with everyone. I really really really miss you guys. I hope you will come back once the “comment” section is up and running.
Back to football.
Argentina has announced the squad that will face france. I am sure you know the list but if you dont here it is.
Goalkeepers: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Leonardo Franco (Atletico Madrid)
Defenders: Roberto Ayala (Valencia), Gabriel Milito (Real Zaragoza), Nicolas Burdisso (Inter Milan), Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan), Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United), Fabricio Fuentes (Villareal), Rodolfo Arruabarrena (Villareal)
Midfielders: Fernando Gago (Real Madrid), Aldo Duscher (Deportivo Coruna), Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan), Luis Gonzalez (Porto), Leandro Somoza (Villarreal), Pablo Aimar (Real Zaragoza), Jonas Gutierrez (Real Mallorca)
Forwards: Javier Saviola (Barcelona), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Diego Milito (Real Zaragoza), Hernan Crespo (Inter Milan), Lisandro Lpez (Porto).
There are some surprises as always, but it is more a predictable selection. I am still wondering what is the deal with Walter Samuel. I also thought Galetti would get called. I am so sad that Messi wont be playing in this game, I am sure the RUSSIANS are upset as well.
BUT THE BIGGEST NEWS OF ALL,
Gonzolo Higuain has said, he has gone with his heart and his heart says ARGENTINA. “All my friends, my family and my football are from over there. I couldn’t imagine myself taking another decision.” – Gonzalo Higuain.
I must say this is probably the happiest news of the new year for me. I am so happy to hear this. I have been waiting for him to make up his mind for a while, but he now has.
In saying that, I am stunned that BASILE didnt call him. as great as Lisandro Lopez has been, I think Gonzalo should have been called, just to rub it on the Frenchs face. haha.
Guys i miss all of you.

I’m still not convinced that Basile was the right choice for the job and the team’s recent record speaks for itself. Bianchi would’ve been a much better choice.
I’m glad that Zanetti is back, too bad he was not selected for the last cup team, it would’ve made a big difference, especially against Germany.
This is going to be a very difficult game for both sides but I predict that Argentina will win 2-1, again, in a very tightly contested game.

Glad that Higuain decided to choose argentina. have been an argie fan since the world cup 86 when Maradona mesmerized me. been hoping to win each of the past world cups but in vain. Now I think argentina are building a great team capable of challenging for the trophy. Keep up the spirit.
