Wow I have read a lot of websites and I can tell you That the world has been watching the Copa and the world is falling more and more in love with our team. They can see the passing ! Nery Castillo is actually the son Uruguayan parents – he was born in Mexico and raised later in Uruguay. His debut was for Danubio of Uruguay.
Uruguay called him for the Under 20 team but cut him for some reason. Yet he took a few years to decide if he wanted to represent Uruguay, Mexico or even Greece where he was offered lots of $$ to get a Greece citizenship to play for them.
Recently he decided on Mexico.

Thanks again for your sweet words,
but I must say that the degree of love and passion for the NT of my country that I have seen expressed on this blog by people from all continents of the planet, literally humbles me to a point of perplexity.
And I pray that if the time comes to lose, our boys will do it with the same class they show when they play the game.

One of my favorite things about the Copa America in the past was that there was always some great new find of a player that no one knows and who takes the tournament by storm. I didn’t think that this was possible anymore, but Nery Castillo has proved me wrong. What a great find for Mexico.

But he’s still very unproven. I just think that if he does play, the defenders for Arg will handle him (he will be BLACK and BLUE by the end of the game). Also, Mascherano managed to shut down the likes of KAKA in the Champions League final. He’ll be all over any attack.

Mexico will be very very difficult, but the WC game is so long ago, and so much has changed since then. Remember how well Arg played once Peckerman put Aimar , Messi, and Tevez in with Riquelme? But Peckerman only put those guys in at the end of the game. Mexico will have to deal with the 4 together for at least a half.

Albo — I have to say I love how you say “our” team, knowing that most of the people who post here are not Argentine. But we all suffer for the team just the same!
