I wanna see Messi at his best today, and I wanna see Gaby Milito playing a game without doing a bad mistake.
I predict a 3-1 win for us. Messi, Crespo and Riquelme the goalscorers. What do you gyus think?

It seems that our hopes to advance now depends on how badly Argentina defeats the rest in the group. Thats why I will want Argentina to field their best. And I am more scared of Veron than Aimar.

Agreed Messi!!
Both the Tevez and Aimar goals are unstoppable.
I just wanted to make sure that we aren’t being too harsh on Veron. He want great, but he wasn’t bad either. If it had been Messi who had charged that fierce long range shot of Veron, we would have gone all praises for him. Badluck, it didnt go in by inches!! But thats the kind of unlucky player Veron has been . So lets just be realistic. I dont like Veron at all, but I just check myself once in a while that I am not being too harsh on him.

Verón and Cambiasso are midfielders who’s job is to assist Riquelme as a play-maker, and on their way back, assist Mascherano in retrieving balls. They are used to that possition from Inter.
Aimar is a great playmaker and Basile loves him and forward Tevez too.
In his own words, he just doesn’t have room for all of them at the time.

Riquleme, I actually thought Veron and Messi combined well a few times. Veron is very good at those outside of the foot and toe-poke short passes which Messi can run on to. I think Veron had too many misplaced passes when he went long and along the ground. His real strength is the long passes in the air. Pin point accuracy. As for Riquelme he keeps the ball so damn well and draws fouls from anyone near him. Pure class and genius. I do agree with you that the US tired but even then Aimar’s goal was all down to him. Which one of our other midfielders was actually going to make a late run into the box to attack a cross?? He did make a difference. It was a move that you could not really defend against. Tired or fresh!

Messi,
I think its one good thing about Riquelme that even if he goes unnoticed in the game, he certainly affects the score with a simple pass, which only he can do.

I have watched the match videos a couple of times and analyzed and I am not much convinced that it was Aimar who changed the game. I think it was because USA were tired, and since they were already 2-1 down, they chose to open up a little bit more, which created space for us.

So I would also go with Cambiasso and Veron at first and see how it goes.

By the way, Messi works only when he gets some space. When double-marked he should try to play passing game and create chances for other. But he gets so impatient when things dont go his way.

Lets see how Riquelme and Messi gel together today.
